Abstract
The invention relates to a method for extracting hydrocarbons in an underground deposit that comprises: the injection of an oxidising gas into the upper portion of the deposit and the in situ combustion of a fraction of the hydrocarbons; the propagation of the combustion from the upper portion towards a lower portion of the field; the recovery of hydrocarbons using a production well having a vertical portion and a horizontal portion, the horizontal portion being located in the lower portion of the deposit; wherein the lower portion of the deposit is located above an aquifer.
