- a binge is provided at the first end of the lever and, advantageously, enables the lever to project from the housing of the mobile phone for operating the generator as aforesaid and to be folded flat against the housing of the mobile phone when not in use.
- the generator is of the brush-less kind and the electrical energy is produced by induction.

- the generator is at least a three-phase generator. This provides the advantage that more energy per revolution of the lever is generated compared to a two-phase generator.
- an indicator is provided to indicate when electrical energy is being generated.
- the indicator may be provided by a light source, for example, an LED, positioned in the housing of the mobile phone.
- the mobile phone includes an internal memory storage device for storing media files.
- the mobile phone includes buttons for controlling the functions of the mobile phone, which buttons are conveniently sized for receiving substantially the entire distal end area of an index finger or thumb of a user.

- the mobile phone 1 generally comprises a housing 2, a chargeable battery 3, an electric generator 4 and a lever 5, wherein, in use, rotation of the lever 5 causes the generator 4 to generate electrical energy which is stored by charging the battery 3, and the chargeable battery 3 provides power for the mobile phone 1.
- a viewing screen 7 is provided for displaying details of calls to the mobile phone 1 and for displaying pictures and other imagery.
- the viewing screen 7 is an LCD; however, it will be appreciated that any type of viewing screen may be used.
- the internal memory storage device 8 may be of any suitable capacity, for example IGB or 2GB internal flash memory. This allows for fast access to the files and also provides a durable and spacious memory capacity.
- the mobile phone 1 comprises a USB port 9 in order to facilitate a number of operations of the mobile phone 1 including the connection of the mobile phone 1 to a remote mobile phone or other device to provided electrical energy for charging the remote mobile phone or other device. Also for these purposes, various connectors can be provided for connection to various types of mobile telephones or other devices. Via the USB port 9, the mobile phone 1 may be wired to an electrical energy source to provide energy to the mobile phone 1 for energising the it and/or recharging the battery 3 of the mobile phone 1.
- the USB port 9 also facilitates the connection of the mobile phone 1 to a PC or hand held computer.
- the mobile phone 1 also comprises a hands free socket 10 for receiving a plug, which may be wired to a pair of headphones.
- the mobile phone.1 cqn be connected to a PC or hand held computer as aforesaid; therefore, there is no need for a user to learn any special software.
- a user may utilise 'Microsoft' Windows to transfer files between the mobile phone 1 and a PC or handheld computer. No complicated music management software is required. Very simple 'Drag and Drop' menus are used so a user can easily copy files to the mobile phone 1.
- the mobile phone may typically have dimensions of approximately 127mm x 60mm x 19mm.
- Audio reproduction quality is of a high standard due to using of leading decoder chips and high quality earphones.
- the mobile phone 1 further includes a radio receiver, not shown, which is able to play both analogue and digital signals.
- the radio receiver can receive FM signals and is provided with PLL digital tuning.
- a sound recorder is provided in the mobile phone 1 for recording sound received by a microphone, not shown.
- the mobile phone may be used as a dicta-phone.
- the mobile phone 1 also comprises an image, recording device in the form of a camera 30, for capturing still or moving images.
- An LED indicator is provided to indicate that sound or images are being received and recorded by the sound recorder or image recorder.
- a lamp, not shown, is provided in the mobile phone 1, which lamp includes at least one LED and is provided with an on/off switch, not shown, in the housing 2.
- the mobile phone 1 can, therefore, function as a 0.3w LED torch.
- the mobile phone 1 includes a digital clock, which is presented on the viewing screen 7.
- the clock may have a stopwatch function.
- the Mobile phone 1 is provided with a switch, not shown, for switching the electrical energy to the mobile phone 1 on or off.
- the lever 5 comprises a first end 13 and a second end 14, see Figures 2 and 3.
- the first end 13 of the lever 5 is attached to a mounting 13a by a hinge pin 13b.
- the mounting 13a is configured to be received and held in a sidewall 40 of a carcass 42 within which carcass 42, a gear train 43 is provided for operation of the electrical generator 4.
- the mounting 13a is also fixedly connected to a first gear wheel 16 freely mounted on an axle 15 that is mounted in an opposite sidewall 41 of the carcass 42, see Figure 3.
- a rubber grip 17 is fixed to the second end 14 of the lever 5 by an axle 18 whereby the grip 17 is capable of rotation relative to the axle 18.
- the grip 17 is held in the hand of an operator and facilitates rotation of the lever 5 about its first end 13.
- Operation of the lever 5 as aforesaid rotates the gear wheel 16, which is in meshing engagement with an in-line pinion gear 20 on an axle 22 located between the sidewalls 40 and 41 of the carcass 42.
- the pinion gear is fixedly connected to a gear wheel 24, thus rotation of the gear wheel 16 causes the gear wheel 24 to be rotated.
- the gear 24 is in meshing engagement with an in-line pinion gear 26 freely located on the axle 15 to drive a gear wheel 27 fixedly connected to the pinion gear 26, see Figure 3.
- the gear wheel 27 is in meshing engagement with a drive gear 28 of the generator 4 as seen in Figures 3 and 4, the drive gear 28 being located on an axle 35 located between the sidewalls 40 and 41 of the carcass 42.
- the electrical generator 4 is fixedly mounted on the sidewall 40 coaxially with the axle 35, see Figure 3.
- this configuration of the gears and drive wheel contributes to the overall thinness of the mobile phone 1 ; this is an important aspect of the present invention in that its appearance is aesthetically pleasing despite the fact that it encompasses an integral wind up mechanism for charging the mobile phone 1.
- the three-phase generator 4 is highly reliable and efficient resulting in less winding required for a larger supply of electrical energy.
- the generator is able to produce up to 100OmAh.
- One minute of winding will provide approximately 30 minutes of mobile phone function, or approximately 30 minutes of lamp light or approximately 15 minutes of simultaneous operation of both lamp and mobile phone 1.
- the rechargeable battery 3 can be an internal 3.6v NiMh ( Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargeable battery which is designed for many years of use but is replaceable through a gate 19 in the event of failure for any reason. This prolongs the useful life of the mobile phone 1. It will be appreciated that alternative batteries may be used whilst still achieving the desired effect.

- the hinge 32 enables the lever 5 to project from the housing 2 of the mobile phone 1 in a first position for rotating the gear train 43 thereby operating the generator 4.
- the hinge 32 also allows the lever 5 to be folded flat against the housing 2 of the mobile phone 1 into a second position, as shown in Figure 2, when not in use.
- Magnetic elements 34 are fixed to an axle 35 of the generator 4 and field coils (not shown) are provided that remain stationary with respect to the housing 2 of the mobile phone 1.
- a LED indicator (not shown) is provided to indicate when electrical energy is being generated by the generator 4.
- a clip may be provided for attachment of the mobile phone to a belt of the user.
- buttons 40 are provided for controlling the functions of the mobile phone 1. In this way, a variety of menus can be viewed and selected on the viewing screen. A user can select a choice of radio station to be listened to via the speaker (not shown) or headphones connected to the USB port.
- buttons 40 are of a size, which allows a user to operate one button without the inconvenience of operating an adjacent button at the same time.
- each button is either suitably sized for receiving substantially the entire surface of the distal end of a user's index finger or thumb.
- the mobile phone 1 incorporates contemporary styling with large form controls thus making the product appealing and practical for both young and less young users.

Abstract
L'invention porte sur un téléphone mobile (1) comprenant un boîtier (2), une batterie apte à être chargée (3), un générateur électrique interne (4) et un levier d'un seul tenant (5), dans lequel, lors de l'utilisation, un mouvement rotatif du levier (5) amène le générateur (4) à générer de l'énergie électrique, qui est stockée par chargement de la batterie apte à être chargée (3), et la batterie apte à être chargée (3) alimente le téléphone mobile (1) en énergie.
