Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
Reference will now be made in detail to embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein like reference numerals refer to the like elements throughout. The embodiments are described below in order to explain the present invention by referring to the figures.
FIG. 1 is a flowchart illustrating a route search method according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. In operation SlOl, a route search system receives an input of at least one of origin information and destination information. In general, in order to retrieve a route, the respective inputs of the origin information and destination information are required to be received, however, the input of any one thereof may be received as necessary. For example, when a user uses origin information and destination information used in a preceding search as is, the input of either the origin information or the destination information may be received.
In operation S 102, the route search system retrieves a route corresponding to the origin information and destination information. For example, the route search system may retrieve map data corresponding to the origin information and destination information in a database for providing map services.
In operation S 103, the route search system retrieves a route search list corresponding to the origin information. Here, the route search list may be identified depending on the origin information, and include the destination information used in a preceding route search. In this instance, the route search system may generate the route search list corresponding to the origin information when the route search list corresponding to the origin information is absent.
In operation S 104, the route search system provides comparison services between the route and routes based on the route search list. In this instance, the route search system may display at least one of the route corresponding to the origin information and destination information, and a route corresponding to the origin information and a different destination information included in the route search list. Conversely, when the route search list is absent, the route search system may simply display only the route corresponding to the origin information and destination information.
In operation S 105, the route search system supplements the destination information to be included in the route search list. In this manner, the destination information supplemented in the route search list may be used for displaying multiple routes when retrieving a route including the origin information at a later time. Also, operation S 105 may be performed before performing operation S 104. In this case, the route search list includes destination information inputted for a route being currently retrieved and a destination information inputted for a priorly retrieved route, and also includes the origin information, so that the route search system, in operation S 104, may provide comparison services between routes based on the route search list, thereby providing all routes used for the route comparison between the route and a route with respect to the inputted origin information and destination information. FIG. 2 is a block diagram illustrating an internal configuration of a route search system according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. As illustrated in FIG. 2, the route search system 200 includes an input unit 201, a route search unit 202, a list search unit 203, a service providing unit 204, and an information supplementing unit 205. The input unit 201 receives an input of at least one of origin information and destination information, and the route search unit 202 retrieves a route corresponding to the origin information and destination information. Specifically, in order to retrieve, in the route search unit 202, the route corresponding to the origin information and destination information inputted through the input unit 201, the corresponding map data may be retrieved in a database and the like providing map services.
The list search unit 203 retrieves the route search list corresponding to the origin information. In this instance, the route search list may be identified according to the origin information, and include destination information used for a preceding route search. Specifically, when using the route search list, a route including the same origin information as origin information retrieved in a preceding route search may be retrieved. Accordingly, the route and a route retrieved in the route search unit 202 may be compared with each other.
The service providing unit 204 provides comparison services between the route and a route based on the route search list. Specifically, as described above, the service providing unit 204 may provide information about multiple routes reaching from the same origin to different destinations.
The information supplementing unit 205 supplements the destination information to be included in the route search list. In this manner, the destination information supplemented in the route search list may be used for displaying multiple routes when retrieving a route including the origin information at a later time.
FIG. 3 illustrates an example of supplementing search results according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. When a user inputs origin information of 'Seoul' and destination information of 'Seorak Waterpia' through a user interface 310, the route search system may retrieve a route search list corresponding to the origin information of 'Seoul'. A route search list 320 illustrated in FIG. 3 includes 'Daechun Hanwha resort' and 'Youngwall IC, that is, destination information 321 supplemented when retrieving a preceding route. The route search system may supplement destination information 322 of 'Seorak Waterpia' inputted when retrieving a current route to be included in the route search list 320.
In this instance, the route search system may supplement routes reaching from the origin information to each of the destination information 322 and the destination information 321 to be included in single map data 330, and display. Accordingly, a user may more readily obtain desired search results from among various search results using multiple routes simultaneously displayed. For example, a route with respect to the destination and routes precedingly retrieved may be simultaneously displayed, thereby enabling comparison between the routes when a user uses map services to determine a workshop location.
Also, information about important Points Of Interest (POIs) and sections may be displayed on the routes regardless of levels. For example, details may not be displayed due to an enlarged map when an entire route is displayed. Accordingly, changed points of roads such as an access road of a highway, or area information such as theme zones or national parks may be displayed on the route, thereby facilitating route selection of the user.
FIG. 4 illustrates a use example of a display removing function according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 5 illustrates a use example of a route removing function according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. A user may remove, using an interface including a display removing function 411, a display of an undesired route from map data 410 where multiple routes are displayed. Also, the user may remove undesired routes from the route search list using a route removing function 511 as illustrated in map data 510.
As described above, according to the route search system and method of the present exemplary embodiment, multiple routes are simultaneously displayed using a route search history of the user, thereby providing comparison services between routes. Although embodiments of the present invention have been shown and described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 5, the present invention is not limited to the described embodiments. Instead, it would be appreciated by those skilled in the art that changes may be made to these embodiments without departing from the principles and spirit of the invention, the scope of which is defined by the claims and their equivalents. A search information providing system providing comparison services even in a general search as well as route search will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 6.
FIG. 6 is a block diagram illustrating an internal configuration of a search information providing system 600 according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention. As illustrated in FIG. 6, the search information providing system 600 includes a data input unit 601, a search result search unit 602, a list search unit 603, a service providing unit 604, and a search data supplementing unit 605.
The data input unit 601 receives an input of selection data and search data, and the search result search unit 602 retrieves search results corresponding to the search data. For example, the search result search unit 602 may retrieve and extract the corresponding search results through the search data inputted in a database for providing search results.
The list search unit 603 retrieves a search list corresponding to the selection data. Here, the search list may be identified depending on the selection data, and include search data used for a preceding search. In this instance, the list search unit 603 may generate the search list corresponding to the selection data when the search list corresponding to the selection data is absent.
The service providing unit 604 provides a comparison service with respect to search results based on the search result and search list. Also, the service providing unit 604 may provide a comparison service with respect to the search results based on the search list after the search data is supplemented to be included in the search list by the search data supplementing unit 605 which will be described in detail below. The service providing unit 604 may provide only the search result corresponding to the search data when the search list corresponding to the selection data is absent.
The search data supplementing unit 605 supplements the search data to be included in the search list. In this manner, the search data supplemented in the search list may be used for providing comparison services between a plurality of search results when retrieving the selection data at a later time. As described above, according to the search information providing system of the present exemplary embodiment, multiple search results such as the search result with respect to the search data inputted from the user and the search result based on the search list with respect to a preceding search may be provided, thereby providing effective comparison services with respect to each of the search results.
The route search method according to the above-described exemplary embodiments of the present invention may be recorded in computer-readable media including program instructions to implement various operations embodied by a computer.
