Description

Description A DISPLAY DEVICE
[1] The present invention relates to a display device which is easily mounted to the front frame of the cabinet.
[2] In display devices, connection members like a screw and tapered tools like a screwdriver are used during mounting of the frame to the cabinet and for this reason the frame and the cabinet can be scratched and damaged. As a solution for this problem, display devices are produced which can be mounted without using connection members.
[3] The USA patent document No. US20060044489, in the state of the art, L-shaped and
U-shaped tabs are provided on the cover for the front cover to be mounted and dismantled to/from the rear cabinet. The cabinet comprises locking walls that are in alignment with the said tabs. When the cover is mounted to the cabinet, the tabs fit into the locking walls that are provided on the cabinet. Thus the cover is fixed to the cabinet.
[4] However during mounting process of the display devices which are mounted without using any connection members, in order for the tab located on the frame to be fitted into the slot provided on the cabinet, the cabinet should be able to stretch. But since the cabinet does not have the required flexibility, the cabinet can slip when the tabs are being fitted into the recesses provided on the cabinet, and placement of the cabinet into the frame can become difficult. This causes scratching on the frame and the cabinet.
[5] The objective of the present invention is to realize a display device whose cabinet and frame can easily be mounted to and dismounted from each other.
[6] The display device which is realized to fulfill the objective of the present invention and defined in Claim 1 and in its dependent claims, comprises a screen, a frame that surrounds the screen and a cabinet to which the screen and the frame are fastened.
[7] The cabinet comprises recesses, and slots at the back of the recesses. The recess is a housing which has a base and three walls around its base. There is not a wall at the front side of the base facing the cabinet. The slot is positioned at the back of the rear wall of the base in order to ensure that the recess and accordingly the cabinet stretch during mounting of the cabinet to the frame. The side of the slot facing the rear wall cambers towards inside of the slot. Camber of the slot causes the middle part of the slot to get thinner and this form provides flexibility to the cabinet.
[8] The frame comprises tabs that expand and form a slope from the upper surface towards the lower surface. There is an empty space at the bottom of the tabs. Tabs ensure that, when the user presses on the cabinet that is disposed on the frame, side of the cabinet slides on the inclined surface of the tab. When the user applies a vertical force on the cabinet, the inclined form of the tabs enables the tabs to apply a horizontal force to the cabinet, and allows the cabinet to stretch towards the slots and the bases of the recesses to get under the tabs.
[9] In one embodiment of the invention, the side of the recess base, which is not covered with a wall, forms a protrusion on its middle section. In this embodiment, by clearing the middle part of the tab, two inclined side walls are formed at its sides. In this embodiment, when the cabinet is disposed on the frame, the protruding part of the recess base corresponds to the middle part of the two side walls of the tab. When it is pressed on the cabinet, the base of the recess slides on the two side walls and gets under the tab. In the said embodiment, since there is a more balanced power transfer to the recess base from the tabs, the cabinet stretches more and gets under the tab more easily. Additionally, since in this embodiment the recess base protrudes in the middle section, it forms a larger fastening surface under the tab whereby it makes it difficult for the recess to disengage from the tab.
[10] With the inventive device, flexibility of the cabinet is enhanced by providing slots at the back of the rear walls of the recesses.
[11] The display device realized to fulfill the objective of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying figures in which,
[12] Figure 1 is the schematic view of the inventive display device.
[13] Figure 2 is the schematic view of the inventive display device from a different point of view.
[14] Figure 3 is the view of a detail of the connection of the cabinet and the frame in the inventive display device.
[15] Figure 4 is the view of a detail of the connection of the cabinet and the frame in one embodiment of the inventive display device.
[16] Figure 5 is the sectional view of a detail of the connection of the cabinet and the frame in one embodiment of the inventive display device.
[17] Figure 6 is the view of a section of the cabinet and the frame during mounting of the inventive display device.
[18] The components shown in the figures are numbered as follows:
[19] 1. Display device
[20] 2. Screen
[21] 3. Frame
[22] 4. Cabinet
[23] 5. 51. WaIl
[24] 6. Base
[25] 7. Recess
[26] 8. Slot [27] 9. Tab
[28] 10. Protrusion
[29] 11. Side wall
[30] The display device (1) comprises a screen (2), a frame (3) that surrounds the screen
(2) and a cabinet (4) to which the frame (3) is mounted. [31] The cabinet (4) comprises at least one recess (7) at the sides thereof having one base
(6) and walls (5, 51) at the three sides of the base (6), and at least one slot (8) in alignment with each recess (7) and lying parallel to the recess (7).
[32] The frame (3) comprises inclined tabs (9) that engage the recesses (7) that enable fastening to the cabinet (4). The cabinet (4) and the frame (3) are connected to each other by fitting the recesses (7) under the tabs (9) (Figure 3).
[33] In the display device (1), the frame (3) and the cabinet (4) are connected to each other via the recesses (7), slots (8) and tabs (9) provided thereon, without using any external connection member.
[34] On the cabinet (4), there is positioned at least one slot (8) in alignment with each recess (7). The slot (8) is formed along the recess (7) and at the back of the rear wall (5) parallel to the wall (5). The slot (8) is an opening large enough to allow stretching of the rear wall (5) of the recess (7). The side of the slot (8) near to the rear wall (5), cambers towards the inner part of the slot (8). Since the slot (8) has a cambered structure, its middle section is narrower than its edges. The slot (8) enables the recess
(7) to acquire a stretching capability. Size of the slot (8) determines the amount of stretching of the recess (7) area of the frame (3).
[35] During mounting, the cabinet (4) is disposed on the frame (3) such that the tabs (9) will face the recesses (7). Then the user presses on the cabinet (4) to enable the edges of the cabinet (4) to slide down the inclined upper surfaces of the tabs (9). This way, the tabs (9) exert a horizontal force to the cabinet (4) whereby they enable the recesses (7) to stretch towards the slots (8) and the bases (6) to fit into the spaces at the bottom of the tabs (9). Thus, the cabinet (4) is mounted to the frame (3). When the cabinet (4) has to be separated from the frame (3), the user pulls the cabinet (4) inwards and at the same time raises it upwards by holding from the rear wall (5) of the recess (7) and from the slot (8). The slot (8) enables the cabinet (4) to stretch again and the base (6) to be displaced upon being released from the tab (9).
[36] In one embodiment of the invention, the display device (1) comprises a protrusion
(10) on the side surface of the recess (7) at the side of the cabinet (4), extending towards the frame (3). In this embodiment, by clearing the middle part of the tab (9) side walls (11) are formed on its sides. Side walls (11) form the inclined region of the tabs (9). In this embodiment, when the cabinet (4) is positioned on the frame (3), the protrusion (10) remains in the space between the side walls (11). The side walls (11) facilitate pushing and stretching of the cabinet (4) by supporting the protrusion (10) from two sides and ensuring that the horizontal force transferred from the tab (9) to the cabinet (4) concentrates at the middle point of the slot (8). Furthermore, the base (6) fitting under the tab (9) forms a larger contact surface with the tab (9) and unless a force is exerted from outside, makes it difficult for the recess (7) to disengage from the tab (9) or to get displaced (Figure - 4).
[37] In the invention, by forming slots (8) at the back of the recesses (7), the rear walls (5) of the recesses (7) are enabled to stretch backwards and thus the recess (7) areas of the cabinet (4) are also allowed to stretch backwards and the bases (6) of the recesses (7) are ensured to easily fit under the tabs (9). When the cabinet (4) is desired to be separated from the frame (3), the cabinet (4) is enabled to be stretched by holding from the walls (5) and the slots (8) and the tabs (9) can easily be released from the recesses (7).
