Abstract
A display device including a main body and at least a cover is provided. The main body has multiple TV standing holes. The cover detachable disposed on the main body is used to cover the TV standing holes. The cover includes multiple buckling parts, at least a lug and a removable portion. The buckling parts are disposed on corresponding opposite two sides of the cover, and the lugs and the removable portion are disposed on another corresponding opposite two sides of the cover. The buckling parts are adapted to pass through the TV standing holes respectively by the force of the friction and elastic. The lug is adapted to contact with the inner wall of the display device. The buckling parts are located between the lug and the removable portion. The removable portion is adapted to separate the cover and the display device.
Description
- This application claims the priority benefit of Taiwanese application No. 94136286, field on Oct. 18, 2005. All disclosure of the Taiwan application is incorporated herein by reference.
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a display device. More particularly, the present invention relates to a display device with detachable cover.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- In recent development, the flat panel display (FPD), such as liquid crystal display (LCD), organic electro-luminescent display (OELD) or plasma Display panel (PDP), has gradually been the main display product in the market.
- Taking the PDP as the example, based on the manner of use, it can be categorized into a back-hanging type being hanged on a wall or a standing-frame type being standing on a stage. When the PDP is standing on the stage by a standing frame, the PDP needs a TV stand hole for plugging the stand frame into the TV stand hole. However, when the PDP in use is hanged on the wall, it needs to use a cover for covering the TV stand hole, so as to maintain the appearance of the PDP and satisfy the safety requirement for the product.
- The conventional method is using screws to fix the cover onto the PDP for covering the TV stand hole. However, the method using the screw for fixing the cover onto the PDP not only causes the difficulty in assembling and detaching, but also consumes time in assembling the cover, resulting in increase of fabrication cost. In addition, the material for the PDP is metal, so it is difficult to form a protruding member in the TV stand hole for hooking by a hook. This also causes difficulty for the cover to be buckled on the display device at a protruding member by the conventional hook.
- One object of the present invention is to provide a display device having a detachable cover.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a display device which has a cover that is adaptable for a display device having a main body made of metal and needs no hook nor protruding part for buckling.
- To achieve the above-mentioned objectives, the invention provides a display device including a main body and a plurality of covers. The main body has a plurality of TV stand holes. Each cover is detachably disposed on the main body and covering each TV stand hole. The cover has a plurality of buckling parts entering the corresponding TV stand holes, and the cover is buckled to the main body by an elastic force from the buckling parts.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the buckling parts are located at opposite two sides of the cover.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, each buckling part includes a buckling main part and a buckling surface.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the buckling main part is made from an elastic material. The buckling main part is elastic and can recover back to an original shape due to elastic property after completion of applying with an external force.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the buckling surface induces an friction force for allowing the cover to be buckled to the main body.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the buckling surface is a slant surface.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the cover further includes at least one lug which is in contact with an inner wall of the main body.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the cover further includes a removable portion for allowing the cover to be detached from the main body.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the removable portion is a groove.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the cover is made of, for example, plastic or metal.
- The present invention further provides a cover used in a display device for covering a TV stand hole of the display device. The cover comprises a plurality of buckling parts formed at opposite two sides of the cover and at least one lug and a removable portion located at the other opposite two sides of the cover. The buckling parts of the cover enter the corresponding TV stand holes. And the cover is buckled to the display device by an elastic force and a friction force from the buckling parts. The lug contacts with an inner wall of the display device, and the buckling parts are located between the lug and the removable portion. The removable portion is suitable for detaching the cover from the display device.
- In accordance with the foregoing descriptions, the present invention uses the detachable cover, so that the cover can be easily assembled to the body of the display device. As a result, the display device of the present invention has the advantages of easy assembling, simple detaching, and saving the assembly cost and time.
- The accompanying drawings are included to provide a further understanding of the invention, and are incorporated in and constitute a part of this specification. The drawings illustrate embodiments of the invention and, together with the description, serve to explain the principles of the invention.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating a display device according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. InFIG. 1 , thedisplay device 100 is, for example, an LCD display device, an OELD display device, a PDP display device, or other type of display device. Thedisplay device 100 includes amain body 110 and at least onecover 120. Themain body 110 has severalTV stand holes 112, and each of theTV stand holes 112 has asidewall 112 a and aninner wall 112 b. Thecover 120 is detachably disposed on themain body 110, and is used for covering theTV stand hole 112. -
FIG. 2 andFIG. 3 are perspective views illustrating the cover ofFIG. 1 from different viewing directions. Referring toFIGS. 1, 2 and 3, thecover 120 includes twobuckling parts 122, twolugs 124, and aremovable portion 126. The twobuckling parts 122 are located at opposite two sides of thecover 120, preferably at left and right sides. Eachbuckling part 122 includes a bucklingmain part 122 a and abuckling surface 122 b. Thebuckling surface 122 b is coupled with the bucklingmain part 122 a at a side far from thecover 120, and thebuckling surface 122 b is implemented by facing to theinner wall 112 b of theTV stand hole 112. The twolugs 124 and theremovable portion 126 are located at the other opposite two sides of thecover 120. In this embodiment, thecover 120 can be made of, for example, plastic or metal. Particularly, thebuckling part 122 can be formed from the elastic plastic. As a result, the bucklingmain part 122 a is an elastic body being thin and elastic. Referring toFIG. 3 , in this embodiment, the bucklingmain part 122 a is perpendicularly protruding out from thecover 120. The bucklingsurface 122 b can be a slant surface, and preferably a rectangular slant surface. Referring toFIG. 1 again, the bucklingmain part 122 a of thecover 120 can enter the correspondingTV stand hole 112. In addition, thecover 120 is buckled into theTV stand hole 112 of themain body 110 via an elastic force from the bucklingpart 122 and a friction force from the bucklingsurface 122 b, so that theTV stand hole 112 is covered. - In more detail, the buckling
part 122 of this embodiment of the present invention enters the correspondingTV stand hole 112, and contacts with theinner wall 112 b of themain body 110 Theinner wall 112 b is an inner surface of themain body 110. In other words, when an user wants to assemble thecover 120 to themain body 110, the bucklingpart 122 is pre-aligned to the correspondingTV stand hole 112. Then, the bucklingmain part 122 a of thecover 120 is applied with a force, so as to shift the bucklingsurface 122 b of the bucklingmain part 122 a along thesidewall 112 a of theTV stand hole 112. The bucklingmain part 122 a is deformed and an elastic force is generated. After the bucklingpart 122 enters the correspondingTV stand hole 112, the bucklingmain part 122 a recovers back to the original shape, due to the elastic force of the bucklingmain part 122 a. As a result, the bucklingmain part 122 a expands and buckles on theinner wall 112 b. In addition, due to the friction between the bucklingsurface 122 b and thesidewall 112 a, the bucklingpart 122 is stably buckled into theTV stand hole 112 of thedisplay device 100. - In accordance with the foregoing descriptions, in order to allow the
cover 120 to be more easily assembled to themain body 110, thecover 120 is formed withseveral lugs 124 thereon. Thelug 124 is used for allowing thecover 120 to be pre-aligned to the correspondingTV stand hole 112. Therefore, the bucklingpart 122 enters theTV stand hole 112 more easily for buckling onto theinner wall 112 b of themain body 110. In more detail, before the bucklingpart 122 is buckled to themain body 110, thelug 124 enters theTV stand hole 112 and gets in contact with theinner wall 112 b of themain body 110. Then, a force is applied on the bucklingmain part 122 a of thecover 120, so that the bucklingpart 122 enters the correspondingTV stand hole 112. Then, the deformed bucklingpart 122 recovers back to the original shape and is buckled on theinner wall 112 b. In association with the friction from bucklingsurface 112 b, thecover 120 is stably buckled into theTV stand hole 112. - In addition, in order to allow the
cover 120 to be easily detached from themain body 110, thecover 120, for example, further includes aremovable portion 126. Theremovable portion 126 is disposed on thecover 120 at a side opposite to thelug 124. When the user wants to detach thecover 120 from themain body 110, the user only needs to apply a force via fingers to move theremovable portion 126, resulting in a separation between the bucklingsurface 122 b of the bucklingpart 122 and theinner wall 112 b. The user needs no additional tools to detach thecover 120 from themain body 110. Theremovable portion 126, preferably, is a groove. Certainly, a pulling ring (not shown in drawings) or other structure are also available for theremovable portion 126 for allowing thecover 120 to be easily separated from themain body 110. - In summary, the display device of the present invention includes a cover with buckling part, and the cover is assembled to the main body for covering the TV stand hole. The buckling mechanism used by the buckling part is the elastic force due to deformation and the friction force due to the contact between the buckling surface and the inner wall. In addition, since the cover has the removable portion, the user can just use the finger to move the removable portion, so as to applying force thereon and directly detach the cover from the main body without additional tool. In other words, the present invention has the advantages of being easy assembling, simple detaching, and saving the assembly cost and time.
- It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made to the structure of the present invention without departing from the scope or spirit of the invention. In view of the foregoing descriptions, it is intended that the present invention covers modifications and variations of this invention if they fall within the scope of the following claims and their equivalents.
Claims (12)
1. A display device, comprising:
a main body having a plurality of TV stand holes formed thereon; and
a plurality of covers detachably disposed on the main body and covering the TV stand holes,
wherein each cover has a plurality of buckling parts entering the corresponding TV stand hole, and the cover is buckled to the main body by an elastic force and a friction force from the buckling parts.
2. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the buckling parts are located at opposite two sides of the cover.
3. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the buckling part comprises a buckling main part and a buckling surface.
4. The display device of claim 3 , wherein the buckling surface is coupled with the buckling main part at one side far away from the cover, and the buckling surface is implemented by facing to an inner wall of the TV stand hole.
5. The display device of claim 3 , wherein the buckling main part is made of an elastic material, and the buckling main part recovers back to an original shape after completion of an external force.
6. The display device of claim 3 , wherein the bucking surface uses a friction effect to allow the cover to be buckled in the main body.
7. The display device of claim 3 , wherein the buckling surface is a slant surface.
8. The display device of claim 1 , wherein each cover comprises a lug located at one side near the buckling part, and the lug contacts with an inner wall of the main body.
9. The display device of claim 8 , wherein each cover further comprises a removable portion located at one side opposite to the lug for detaching the cover from the main body.
10. The display device of claim 9 , wherein the removable portion is a groove.
11. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the cover is made of plastic or metal.
12. A cover used in a display device for covering a TV stand hole of the display device, comprising:
a plurality of buckling parts formed at opposite two sides thereof; and
at least one lug and a removable portion located at the other opposite two sides thereof,
wherein the buckling parts of the cover enter the corresponding TV stand hole, and the cover is buckled to the display device by an elastic force and a friction force from the buckling parts, the lug contacts with an inner wall of the display device, the buckling parts are located between the lug and the removable portion, and the removable portion is used for detaching the cover from the display device.
