Abstract
In a plasma sterilizer, a coil electrode (3) is wound around a glass tube (2) to be put into a bottle (1) having an opening which is an object to be sterilized. The pressure in an airtight vessel (4) is reduced by a vacuum pump (7), an oxygen gas (62) is supplied into the glass tube (2) from an oxygen gas supplying device (6), and a high-frequency current is applied to the coil electrode (3) from a high-frequency power supply portion (5) to cause electric discharge. Thus, in the plasma sterilizer, active oxygen species are produced inside the bottle (1) by plasma generated by a high-frequency current and by an air flow generated by the vacuum pump (7). Therefore, active oxygen species can be produced at a high density. Consequently, not only the inner wall of the bottle (1) but also the outer wall can be reliably and effectively sterilized continuously.
