Abstract
The method of the invention consists in that for the manufacture of finned (3) tubes (1) a fibre laser is used. A flat bar is taken and is bent by mechanical means to form a U section, an L-section or an I section, which is then wound onto a rotating tube by means of expedient feed rolls. Upon contact of the flat bar the laser beam (4) or a MAG welding arc (6) is guided on the lower surface of the U section, L section or I section and the formed fillet weld (2) is fused by the laser beam. Laser beam welding is carried out at high speed of more than 1 m/min, whereas prior to welding the tube is pre-heated to 0 - 100.
