Abstract
An external resonator type wavelength variable laser device is provided with an optical amplifier (2) for amplifying a laser beam; a wavelength controller (8) for controlling the wavelength of the laser beam by a liquid crystal driven by an alternating current voltage; and a phase adjustor (3) for adjusting the phase of the laser beam by changing a refractive index based on a modulation signal. The amplitude of the modulation signal changes based on the amplitude of the alternating current voltage. Thus, the external resonator type wavelength variable laser device having excellent stability in laser oscillation mode is provided.
