Abstract

A universal line adjuster device for installation of ready-made flooring material comprising of: two major metal components painted in different colors for better viewing it among installing material, which are attached by means of Wing Bolt. Wing Bolt regulates the distance between two metal components; a screw is holding an entire device attached to the wall. The main designation of the universal line adjuster for parquet installation is to determine, regulate, and preserve the straight line for the first and each subsequent raw of the installing flooring parquet or tile material made of wood, laminate, plastic, ceramic, marble, and granite. Similarly, universal line adjuster for parquet installation preserves even distance between the wall and installing material and prevents displacement of said materials while its installation.

Description

INVENTION TITLE UNIVERSAL LINE ADJUSTER FOR PARQUET INSTALLATION
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
1. The present invention relates generally to a flooring material installation. In particular, it relates to a line adjuster device for installation of ready-made flooring material like parquet material or tile. This line adjuster device allows easy, safe and qualitative installation of flooring materials. Examples of flooring materials may include, but not limited to: parquet or tile material made of wood, laminate, plastic, ceramic, marble, and granite.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
2. The invention relates to a laying aid for installation of ready-made flooring material, such as flooring parquet or tile material made of wood, laminate, and plastic, ceramic, marble, and granite. The most difficult part of installation is installation of the flooring material along the line connecting the wall and the floor. Inside the most of the dwellings the walls do not have straight and smooth surfaces; instead it is crooked and uneven. In some parts the wall is protruding forward where in the other parts it has a concavity. Such unevenness in the shape of the wall making the line between floor and the wall in most of the cases being wavy and uneven instead of being straight and smooth, which makes installation process at this point very difficult not only for an amateur, but also to a professional installer.
3. The objective underlying the invention is to provide a laying aid which is also a help to the non-professional and those who lay inventive floor elements only once and is, nevertheless, inexpensive.
4. Therefore there is a need in a device helping an amateur or a professional installer to adjust the line between wall and the floor. Such adjuster must provide means for holding a straight line of the first and subsequent rows of the installing parquet material made of laminate, wood, plastic, marble, granite, or ceramic.
5. Additionally, such a device must provide even spacing between the wall and the installing flooring material along the entire line of the wall and the material being installed on the floor.
6. Moreover, such a device must insure that the installing flooring material of the first or any consecutive rows would not be displaced, moved, shifted, or relocated during flooring installation process.
7. It is therefore desirable to provide a line adjuster device allowing easy, safe and qualitative installation of flooring parquet or tile material made of wood, laminate, plastic, ceramic, marble, and granite. DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFFERED EMBODIMENT AND THE BEST MODE

This metal component 1 consists of two elements: the first element 16 of the first metal component 1 is sized 2" x 2.5" with a curve 1A" along the longest side. This metal plate 22, FIG. 4 and 7 is functioning as a stop for the universal line adjusted device and metal plate 22 is attached to the wall by means of screw 6 which inserted throughout the opening 4, FIG. 4 and 7 which having diameter 3/16". This opening 4 is located in the middle of the curved up metal plate 23, FIG. 4 and 7, on a distance of 3/8" from the edges of the plate 23 and the distance of 3/16" from the upper edge of the metal plate 23. This opening 4 is intended for screwing the screw 6, FIG. 4 and 8 throughout the surface of the metal plate 23. Said screw 6 is holding the entire device of universal line adjuster for parquet installation and preserves even distance between the wall and installing material and prevent displacement of said materials while its installation.
15. 3). Wing Bolt 5, FIG. 1 , 4, and 6, which regulate the distance between the wall and the installing flooring parquet or tile material made of wood, laminate, plastic, ceramic, marble, and granite.
16. 4). Screw 6 having lengths 2", see FIG. 1 , 4, and 8, which is crewing throughout the openings 4, FIG. 4 and 7. This opening 4 is located in the middle of the curved up metal plate 23, FIG. 4 and 7, on a distance of 3/8" from the edges of the plate 23 and a distance of 3/16" from the upper edge of the metal plate 23. This opening 4 is intended for screwing the screw 6, FIG. 4 and 8 throughout the surface of the metal plate 23. Said screw 6 is holding the entire device of universal line adjuster for parquet installation and preserves even the distance between the wall and installing material and prevent displacement of said materials while its installation.
ASSEMBLY OF THE UNIVERSSAL LINE ADJUSTER FOR PARQUET INSTALLATION
17. Universal line adjuster for parquet installation must be assembled in the following order:
18. 1). Join together first painted metal component 1 and second painted metal component 3, having thickness 1/8" illustrated in FIG. 4 and 5. This first painted metal component 1 consists of 2 elements 16 and 18 welded at the point 17, FIG. 5 at a 90 degree angle between the surfaces 18 and 16. Second painted metal component 3 must be placed on the top of the second element 18 of the first painted metal component 1, FIG 5 and 7. It must be placed in such a way that element 18 will be located between two metal plates curved down at a 90 degree angle and perpendicular to surface 20-21, FIG. 4; that openings 7 and 24, FIG. 4 and 7 located in the plates 20 and 21, FIG. 4 and 7 respectively would be located on the same axis with the spigot 19. Spigot 19 is received through the hole in the curved down side of the second painted metal component
19. 2). Then inserting Wing Bolt 5, FIG. 4 and 6, throughout the opening 7, FIG. 4 and 7 that is screwing into the spigot 19 having inner thread's diameter 1A", FIG. 4 along the inner thread 2, FIG. 4 and 5.
20. 3). Wing Bolt 5, FIG. 4 inserted into the opening 24, FIG. 4 and 7, which is located in the middle of the curved down metal plate 21, FIG. 4 and 7. This metal plate 21 is intended for holding in horizontal position second painted metal component 3, FIG. 4 and 7.
21. 4). Screwing Wing Bolt 5 until its end 25, FIG. 4 touches the middle of the curved down metal plate 22, Fig. 4 and 7. This curved down metal plate 22, and the entire second painted metal component 3, FIG. 4 and 7 is functioning as a stop for the universal line adjusted device. This metal plate 22 is attached to the wall by means of screw 6 which inserted throughout the opening 4, FIG. 4 and 7 which having diameter 3/16". Opening 4 is located in the middle of the curved up metal plate 23, FIG. 4 and 7. This opening 4 is intended for screwing the screw 6, FIG. 4 and 8 throughout the surface of the metal plate 23. Said screw 6 is holding the entire device of universal line adjuster for parquet installation and preserves even distance between the wall and installing material and prevent displacement of said materials while its installation.
METHOD OF UTILIZATION OF THE UNIVERSAL LINE ADJUSTED FOR PARQUET
INSTALLATION
22. 1. Assembling this device for installation of the parquet material according to the described above assembling process.
23. 2. Example for utilization for installation of laminated parquet material.
24. 3. Forty eight (48) hours prior to parquet installation parquet material must be brought into the room where it will be installed later. This procedure is necessary to insure that the humidity inside tongue and groove parquet material would be the same as humidity of the room in which it is intended to be installed later.
25. 4. The floor of the room must be cleaned thoroughly before installation of the parquet material.
26. 5. Then installer should check the floor or any surface where parquet material will be installed for any humps, inequality, or bumps. For this installer needs take a cord and place it in one corner of the room (place piece or plank of said parquet material underneath the cord on top of the surface intended for installation, so the plank makes a space between the installation surface and the cord). Place some weights on the cord if there is only one installer in order to hold the cord in that place. Then place piece or plank of said parquet material underneath the cord on top of the surface intended for installation in another corner of the room, so the plank makes a space between the installation surface and the cord and both ends of the cord are on the same level from the surface. Then slowly moving along the side of the wall stretching the cord from said corner of the room toward the opposite corner. Then looking underneath the cord for the existence of the bumps, inequality, or humps. In the case where there any of them present installer must remove the bumps and humps and in the case of any holes to concrete it when the surface is made out of concrete or use plywood where the surface is made out of wood, so making surface smooth.
27. 6. Then in the case where surface does not have any pads installer should place some foam 26, FIG. 3 and 4, connecting each row of it with the tape 27, FIG. 3 (it is necessary to lease a space between the rows from 1/8" to 1A") and checking that the foam rows do not overlap.
28. 7. Then we place parquet material in one row along the wall from which we will start installing the parquet material 9, FIG. 2 and 3 (that side of the parquet material which slides into the tongue more difficult goes to the wall). Parquet planks must be installed in such a way so that the side parts of the parquet are tightly attached one to the other without any gaps 10, FIG. 2 and 3.
29. 8. Placing assembled universal line adjuster for parquet installation 11 , FIG. 2, 3 and 4, where parquet planks/strips is joint together 10, FIG. 2 and 3, and also at the beginning and at the end of the flooring line between the wall and the installing material. A necessary gap must be left between the wall and the installing parquet material 12, FIG. 2, 3 and 4 by means of screwing in Wing Bolt 5, FIG. 4 until: 1). Second painted metal component 3 (thickness 3/32", FIG. 4 and 7) will touch the wall 29, FIG. 4 with the curved down metal plate 22, FIG. 4 and 7 (at a 90 degree angle, which is perpendicular to the surface); and 2), Second painted metal component 3 will touch the wall 29 with the curved up metal plate 23, FIG. 7 (curved up at a 90 degree angle, which is perpendicular to the surface, and 3). Curved down metal element 16 touch the parquet flooring along its longest side, FIG. 4.
30. 9. In order to eliminate shifting between universal line adjuster for parquet installation and installing parquet material during installation process, device must be securely pressed to the parquet flooring 30, FIG. 4. Then it must be fixed with the 2" length Screw 6, FIG. 4, this screw inserted into the opening 4, FIG. 1, 4 and 7 in the second metal painted component 3, FIG. 1, 4 and 7 and go through wall frame 13, FIG. 4 and drywall 14, FIG. 4. Now universal line adjuster for parquet installation holds the parquet material 9, FIG. 2, 3 and 4, and the necessary gap between the wall and installing parquet 12, FIG. 2, 3 and 4.
31. 10. After installation of the parquet material in one room is finished, unscrew 6, FIG. 4 and transfer the universal line adjuster for parquet installation into another room for further installation.
32. 12. Then continue installation of the parquet material utilizing universal line adjuster for parquet installation according instruction described above. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
33. FIGURE 1 depicts embodiment of the assembled universal line adjuster for parquet installation.
34. FIGURE 2 depicts map of the room which showing the method of installation of universal line adjuster for parquet installation for parquet flooring.
35. FIGURE 3 depicts view from the top: 1 - Walls and its roughness; 2 - parquet flooring; 3 - distance between wall and flooring; 4 - two installed devices of universal line adjuster for parquet installation; 5 - view along the cross-section line AA.
36. FIGURE 4 depicts the view along the cross-section line AA (see 11 , FIG. 3). Cross-section line AA depicts: Universal line adjuster for parquet installation 11 and its attachment to the wall; Wall frame (stud) 13; Drywall 14; Base flooring (concrete or wood) 15; Laminated flooring 9: The distance 12 between the wall and flooring, this must be adjusted during flooring installation.
37. FIGURE 5 depicts collective view on the first painted metal component 1, having thickness 1/8". This metal component 1 consists of two elements: the first element 16 of the first metal component 1 is sized 2" x 2.5" with a curve 1A" along the longest side. This element 16 of the first metal component 1 holds installing material and prevents it from displacement. This element 16 of the first metal component 1 is a device frame supporting and intended for installation of the entire device on the installing flooring made of parquet or tile material made of wood, laminate, plastic, ceramic, marble, and granite. To the top part of the first element 16 of the metal component 1 (from the opposite side of the curve) is welded second element 18 (welding segment 17). This second element 18 having size of the welded surface of 3A" by 21/2" and height of 21/2" must be installed perpendicular toward the first element 16 (ninety degrees). Spigot 19 is pressed into the upper part of the second element 18 having the space 1 V" from the edges of the sides of the element 18 and having space 1 1A" from the top edge of the element 18. Spigot 19 having screw-thread 2 with the diameter 1A". This spigot is intended for Wing Bolt 5. Where Wing Bolt 5 regulate the distance between the wall and the installing flooring parquet or tile material made of wood, laminate, plastic, ceramic, marble, and granite. .
38. FIGURE 6 depicts collective view on the Wing Bolt 5, which regulate the distance between the wall and the installing flooring parquet or tile material made of wood, laminate, plastic, ceramic, marble, and granite.
39. FIGURE 7 depicts collective view on the second painted metal component 3, having thickness 3/32" illustrated in. This metal component 3 is placed on the top of the first painted metal component 1, see FIG. 5. This second metal component 3 has three metal edges, which are curved down with the angle equal 90 degrees, and being perpendicular to the surface 20-21-22. Further this second metal component 3 has one metal edge curved up at a 90 degree angle, and being perpendicular to the surface 23. Curved down metal edge 20 has the opening 7 in the middle of it. This opening 7 having the diameter 5/16" and is located on a distance of 1 1A" from the edges of the sides of this component 3 and on a distance of 7/16" from the upper edge. This opening 7 is intended for holding second metal component 3 in horizontal state. For this purpose Wing Bolt 5 is inserted trough the opening 7, FIG. 4 and 6. Then Wing Bolt 5 is screwed into the spigot 19 having screw-thread 2 with the diameter 1A", FIG. 4 and 5. Then Wing Bolt 5 is inserted into the opening 24 having diameter 5/16". This opening 24 located in the middle of the curved down metal plate 21, having a distance of 3/8" from the side edges of the metal plate 21 and a distance of 7/16" from the surface 31, FIG. 7. This opening 24 is intended for holding second metal component 3 in horizontal state. Wing Bolt 25, FIG. 4 hang back to the middle of the curved down metal plate 22, FIG. 4 and 7. This metal plate 22, FIG. 4 and 7 is functioning as a stop for the universal line adjuster device and metal plate 22 is attached to the wall by means of screw 6 which inserted throughout the opening 4, FIG. 4 and 7 which having diameter 3/16". This opening 4 is located in the middle of the curved up metal plate 23, FIG. 4 and 7, on a distance of 3/8" from the edges of the plate 23 and a distance of 3/16" from the upper edge of the metal plate 23. This opening 4 is intended for screwing the screw 6, FIG. 4 and 8 throughout the surface of the metal plate 23. Said screw 6 is holding the entire device of universal line adjuster for parquet installation and preserves even distance between the wall and installing material and prevent displacement of said materials while its installation.
40. FIGURE 8 depicts collective view on the screw 6 having lengths 2", see FIG. 1 , 4, and 8, which is crewing throughout the openings 4, FIG. 4 and 7. This opening 4 is located in the middle of the curved up metal plate 23, FIG. 4 and 7, on the distance of 3/8" from the edges of the plate 23 and a distance of 3/16" from the upper edge of the metal plate 23. This opening 4 is intended for screwing the screw 6, FIG. 4 and 8 throughout the surface of the metal plate 23. Said screw 6 is holding the entire device of universal line adjuster for parquet installation and preserves even distance between the wall and installing material and prevent displacement of said materials while its installation.
SUMMARY
41. Present invention is intended to be utilized at the beginning of the installation where installation process requires placing, adjustment, and government of the spacing between the wall and the installing material. This invention is contrived for installation of flooring material where examples of flooring materials may include, but not limited to: parquet or tile material made of wood, laminate, plastic, ceramic, marble, and granite.
42. Main designation of the universal line adjuster for parquet installation is to determine, regulate, and preserve the straight line for the first and each subsequent raw of the installing flooring parquet or tile material made of wood, laminate, plastic, ceramic, marble, and granite. Similarly, universal line adjuster for parquet installation preserves even distance between the wall and installing material and prevent displacement of said materials while its installation.
43. Universal line adjuster for parquet installation consists of two major metal components painted in different colors for better viewing it among installing material. First painted metal component consists of two elements: (i) the first rectangle-shaped element of the first metal component having a curve faced down along the longest side, which is bent to a 90 degree angle; (ii) second rectangle-shaped element of the first metal component having curve up along the longest side, which is bent to a 90 degree angle;
44. Second painted metal component consists of the following elements: (i) two opposite sides bent down to a 90 degree angle; (ii) one plate bent down to a 90 degree angle located in the middle of second painted metal component; (iii) and one bent up to a 90 degree angle plate protruding in the opposite direction as one of bent down plates.
45. Wing Bolt is a connecting element associated with first and second painted metal component;
46. Screw is holding assembled first and second painted metal components as entire device of universal line adjuster for parquet installation attached to the wall and preserves even distance between the wall and installing material such preventing displacement of said materials while its installation.
47. Second rectangle-shaped element further comprising a spigot pressed into the upper part of the second rectangle-shaped element; said spigot is located on the equal distance from the opposite edges on the sides and closer to the top; spigot has screw-thread; said spigot is intended for receiving connecting means; said spigot is received through the hole in the curved down side of the second painted metal component.
48. First rectangle-shaped element of the first metal component holds installing material with it's curved down side and thus prevents it from displacement. First rectangle-shaped element of the first metal component is a device's frame support, which is intended for installation of the entire device on the installing flooring.
49. Second rectangle-shaped element of the first painted metal component is welded to the top part of said first rectangle-shaped element of the first painted metal component; welding is made along the longest sides of each of said first and second rectangle-shaped elements and along the curve of the second rectangle-shaped element; this second rectangle-shaped element must be welded at a 90 degree angle to the top surface of first rectangle-shaped element.
50. Bent down plate is located in the middle of the second painted metal component; said plate has a hole in the middle of it for receiving connecting element; said hole is intended for holding second painted metal component in horizontal state.
51. One of said opposite bent down to a 90 degree angle sides of second painted metal component having a hole for receiving spigot with connecting element.
52. One of two opposite bent down metal plates, which has no hole in it, is functioning as a stop for the universal line adjuster device and said metal plate is attached to the wall by means of holding element which inserted through the hole in the bent up plate.
53. One bent up to a 90 degree angle plate protruding in the opposite direction of one of the bent down plates having a hole for receiving a holding element.
54. Connecting element received through the spigot, which received by the hole in curved down side of the second painted metal component, and then received through bent down plate in the middle of the second painted metal component; said connecting element regulate the distance between the wall and the installing flooring.
55. Second painted metal component is placed on the top of the first painted metal component; said first and second painted metal components are connected by means of connecting element.
56. The invention and its advantages are described in greater detail in the following in conjunction with the attached drawings.

Claims

1. What is claimed is:
2. CLAIM 1. A universal line adjuster for parquet installation, comprising:
3. first painted metal component; first metal component consists of two elements: (i) the first rectangle-shaped element of the first metal component having a curve faced down along the longest side, which is bent to a 90 degree angle; (ii) second rectangle-shaped element of the first metal component having curve up along the longest side, which is bent to a 90 degree angle;
4. second painted metal component having (i) two opposite sides bent down to a 90 degree angle; (ii) one plate bent down to a 90 degree angle located in the middle of second painted metal component; (iii) and one bent up to a 90 degree angle plate protruding in the opposite direction as one of bend down plates.
5. connecting element associated with first and second painted metal component;
6. holding element holds assembled first and second painted metal components as entire device of universal line adjuster for parquet installation attached to the wall and preserves even distance between the wall and installing material such preventing displacement of said materials while its installation.
7. CLAIM 2. A universal line adjuster for parquet installation in accordance with claim 1, wherein said second rectangle-shaped element further comprising: spigot pressed into the upper part of the second rectangle-shaped element; said spigot is located on the equal distance from the opposite edges on the sides and closer to the top; spigot has screw-thread; said spigot is intended for receiving connecting means; said spigot is received through the hole in the curved down side of the second painted metal component.
8. CLAIM 3. A universal line adjuster for parquet installation in accordance with claim 1, wherein said first rectangle-shaped element of the first metal component holds installing material with its curved down side and thus prevents it from displacement.
9. CLAIM 4. A universal line adjuster for parquet installation in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said first rectangle-shaped element of the first metal component is a device's frame support, which is intended for installation of the entire device on the installing flooring.
10. CLAIM 5. A universal line adjuster for parquet installation in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said second rectangle-shaped element of the first painted metal component is welded to the top part of said first rectangle-shaped element of the first painted metal component; welding is made along the longest sides of each of said first and second rectangle-shaped elements and along the curve of the second rectangle-shaped element; this second rectangle-shaped element must be welded at a 90 degree angle to the top surface of first rectangle-shaped element.
11. CLAIM 6. A universal line adjuster for parquet installation in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said bent down plate located in the middle of second painted metal component having a hole in the middle for receiving connecting element; said hole is intended for holding second painted metal component in horizontal state.
12. CLAIM 7. A universal line adjuster for parquet installation in accordance with claim 1 , wherein one of said opposite bent down to a 90 degree angle sides of second painted metal component having a hole for receiving spigot with connecting element.
13. CLAIM 8. A universal line adjuster for parquet installation in accordance with claim 1, wherein one of two opposite bent down metal plates, which has no hole in it is functioning as a stop for the universal line adjuster device and said metal plate is attached to the wall by means of holding element which inserted through the hole in the bend up plate.
14. CLAIM 9. A universal line adjuster for parquet installation in accordance with claim 1, wherein one bent up to a 90 degree angle plate protruding in the opposite direction of one of the bent down plates having a hole for receiving a holding element.
15. CLAIM 10. A universal line adjuster for parquet installation in accordance with claim 1, wherein said connecting element received through the spigot, which received by the hole in curved down side of the second painted metal component, and then received through bent down plate in the middle of the second painted metal component; said connecting element regulate the distance between the wall and the installing flooring.
16. CLAIM 11. A universal line adjuster for parquet installation in accordance with claim 1, wherein said second painted metal component is placed on the top of the first painted metal component; said first and second painted metal components are connected by means of connecting element.
