Abstract

A testing device (1) for an automatic transmission has a conveyor (2) for conveying the automatic transmission, an input shaft drive mechanism (3) connected to the input shaft of the automatic transmission conveyed by the conveyor, an output shaft holder (6) for holding multiple kinds of output shaft (4, 5) to be mounted on the automatic transmission, and an output shaft connection mechanisms (7, 8) for taking an output shaft out of the output shaft holder and mounting the output shaft to the automatic transmission and connecting the output shaft to a dynamometer (9, 10). The output shaft holder (6) pivotably mounts, by means of a shaft (42), first and second holder body portions (44, 45), which support the right and left output shafts (4, 5), to the lower portion of the conveyor (2). To take out the output shafts (4, 5) and receive the shafts, the output shaft holder (6) is pivoted about the shaft (42) and protruded from an opening (11), formed in the conveyor (2), to the upper surface side of the conveyor. The structure reduces the number of components and makes the testing device (1) compact.
