Abstract

A rotary electric machine in which transmission of heat generated from the surface of a claw pole to a permanent magnet is suppressed by separating the permanent magnet from the claw pole and holding it on the yoke side thereby enhancing resistance against centrifugal force of a permanent magnet holding structure, and temperature rise of the permanent magnet can be suppressed by radiating heat of the permanent magnet effectively to cooling air. In the rotary electric machine, the permanent magnet is held by a pair of yokes through a predetermined clearance while opposing the inner circumferential surface on the distal end side of each of a plurality of claw poles, the proximal portion of a planar ring metallic fan is bonded to the opposite end faces of a pole core in the axial direction, one end side of a heat conduction metal plate is bonded tightly to each permanent magnet, and the other end side is arranged to penetrates the proximal portion of the fan and extend axially outward.
