Abstract

In various embodiments described herein, a display device (85) comprising a light collection film (80, 84) and a photovoltaic device (86, 100, 200) disposed on an edge (88) of the collection film (80, 84). The collection film (80, 84) has a plurality of light-turning features (94, 108) for redirecting light between the front and back surface of the collection film (80, 84) and the photovoltaic device (86, 100, 200). In some embodiments, a light source (90, 174) is also disposed on an edge (88) of the collection film (80, 84) and emits light which is turned by the light-turning features (94, 108) toward the display.
