Abstract

An imaging system for a vehicle, having a camera (1) and lighting devices (31, 32). The lighting devices (31, 32) are arranged outside, with respect to the vehicle width direction or the vehicle height direction, of the region of a driver's face (4) as an imaging target. For example, when the imaging region surface (among P1, a portion within a field angle αc of the camera (1)) at the position of the imaging target is in a vertical cross section of a rectangular column, lighting projectors can be arranged at positions that are located outside (if on the same horizontal cross section as the rectangular column, in the region indicated by the thick arrows in the figure) the rectangular column and closer to the camera (1) than the imaging region surface.
