Abstract

Disclosed is a high-throughput in vitro evaluation method which can evaluate the biodegradability of a base material in a simple manner. Specifically disclosed is a method for evaluating the biodegradabity of a base material in vitro, which is characterized by: contacting the base material with a solution containing a component capable of degrading the base material under the conditions where the contact area between the base material and the solution becomes substantially constant; and measuring the change in the contact position between the base material and the solution over time.
