Abstract
In a scan type projection device (PJ), light emitted from a light source (1) is two-dimensionally deflected by a deflection element (3) and obliquely projected via a projection optical system (7) onto a screen (SC). The projection optical system (7) has a plurality of reflection surfaces (S5, S8) and a refraction surface (S6). By appropriately setting the surface shape of each of the optical surfaces of the projection optical system (7), the reflection surface (S8) arranged nearest to the screen (SC) can have the function to correct a trapezoid distortion and the refraction surface (S6) can have the function to correct an image surface warp. Thus, it is possible to reduce the entire size of the scan type projection device (PJ) which performs oblique projection and to preferably correct both of the trapezoid distortion and the image surface warp, thereby forming a preferable image on the entire screen.
