Such edge strips are known for example from DE 34 02 923 A1, EP 1 080 854 B1 or DE 199 40 329 A1.

Conventional edge strips are produced so that they are about 2 to 4 mm wider than the thickness of a furniture board. For example, the furniture board has a thickness of 25 mm, while the edge strip has a width of about 28 mm. After gluing the edge strip to the front side of the furniture board, the protruding edge of the edge strip is milled flush with various, known per se, processing machines. As a result, approx. 10 to 20% of the edge strip is processed during post-processing.

Another disadvantage is seen that the processing machine has a large machine length and high investment costs due to the extensive post-processing.

Also, the visual impression is disturbed by the milling, since between the decor of the edge strip and the decor of the furniture board, the base material of the edge strip creates a kind of frame (so-called picture frame effect) on which no decor can be seen.

The invention has for its object to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art, and to provide a correspondingly improved edge trim.
