Abstract

This invention provides a light diffusing agent which can provide better light diffusing properties and optical transparency than conventional spherical resin particles and can improve the properties of final products such as screens. The light diffusing agent includes spherical resin particles having a number of recesses on their surfaces and have excellent transparent and optical properties. Accordingly, a light diffusing film using the light diffusing agent has excellent light diffusing properties and total light transmittance. By virtue of the properties, in the light diffusing film, even when scattered light is viewed at any position, a well balance between good light diffusing properties and total light transmittance can be realized. The light diffusing film can widely be utilized, for example, in backlights of liquid crystal display, transmission screens, lighting equipment, and decorative illumination signboards.
