Abstract

Provided is a sophisticated imaging device which can image an object by rapidly setting an imaging condition desired by a user. The imaging device includes: an imaging element which converts an optical image of the object into an electric image signal; a memory unit which stores a plurality of algorithms for setting an imaging condition and sample images correlated with the algorithms; an image comparison unit which compares the image from the imaging element to the sample images so as to select a sample image which is most similar to the image from the imaging element and select an algorithm corresponding to the selected sample image; and an imaging condition setting unit which sets an imaging condition upon imaging according to the selected algorithm.
