Abstract

A fuel cell system which can satisfy both insulation resistance measurement control and catalyst activity recovery control with no trouble such as incorrect measurement of the insulation resistance of a fuel cell. The fuel cell system (100) comprises a fuel cell (40) for generating power through electrochemical reaction of reaction gas, an insulation resistance measuring section (90) for measuring the insulation resistance of the fuel cell (40), and a controller (10) for controlling power generation of the fuel cell (40), wherein the controller (10) performs insulation resistance measurement control for measuring the insulation resistance with the insulation resistance measuring section (90) and catalyst activity recovery control for recovering the activity of the fuel cell (40), under respective predetermined execution conditions, and the controller (10) inhibits execution of catalyst activity recovery control during insulation resistance measurement control.
