Description

A RAT AND MOUSE TRAP PACK FOR DOMESTIC USE
TECHNICAL FIELD
The invention relates to the technical sector concerning rat and mouse traps and containers, using solid bait and with special reference to the corresponding packs of traps and bait.
BACKGROUND ART
The market fundamentally offers two types of dispensers, for strictly professional use, namely T-shaped and box-type traps. A predetermined dose of solid, highly-toxic poisonous bait is positioned inside the box.
T-shaped dispensers, which are especially suitable for outside use, comprise a cylindrical transversal portion, destined to rest on a base surface (for example the ground), ends of which identify entry and/or exit sections for the rat or mouse, which runs along the transversal portion.
A longitudinal cylindrical portion enters the cylindrical transversal portion at the halfway point thereof. The longitudinal cylindrical portion houses the dose of bait and is fixed using elastic bands to poles, fences, guttering and so on.
The upper section of the longitudinal cylindrical portion, through which the bait is supplied, is provided with a safety closure, generally of the key-type, which can guarantee inaccessibility to the bait on the part of children, pets, wild animals and birds, thus safeguarding them. Box-geometry dispensers comprise a base which is destined to be rested on the ground, from which extend a pair of lateral containing flanks, a substantially arched upper portion and a pair of heads provided with corresponding entry and/or exit sections for the rat or mouse running along the internal region of the box structure.
The box structure of the dispenser is identified by two half-shells which in the open configuration enable positioning of the bait, and which in the closed configuration make access to the bait impossible for children, pets, wild animals and birds, thus safeguarding them, especially thanks to the presence of a safety closure, generally a key-type closure.
T-dispensers and box dispensers currently on the market are aimed at the professional market and are sold in multiple packs, containing a high number of items.
According to known modalities, the bait is constituted by right-angled parallelepiped packs, and are generally paraffin-waxed, i.e. resistant to dampness and atmospheric agents and protected against leakage of toxic and/or dangerous substances to the outside of the dispenser after the mouse/rat elimination function has taken place.
Baits at present available on the market are for strictly professional use and are offered in multiple packs, i.e. they contain a large number of packs which can provide a high number of refill doses in the dispensers.
It can easily be understood how the packs available on the market are not destined for domestic use, i.e. a non-professional use.
The most obvious reason for this is the grave risk the bait represents when in a multiple pack. After first use to set the traps, the bait has to be conserved in a domestic setting and in a protected and safe place, as well as having to be permanently inaccessible to pets, children, old people or persons unaware of the danger they represent.
Improper use of the unsecured bait, for example accidentally swallowed or even only placed in contact with the skin, can lead to very serious intoxication, and even death, in animals.
To this is added the problem that multiple bait packs, supplied in very high numbers of doses for professional use, is not suited to the sporadic use made in domestic settings, in cellars, garages and cupboards.
DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
The aim of the present invention is to provide a pack for domestic use for eliminating mice and rats, which can guarantee an especially effective and simple use for a sporadic user, i.e. a non-professional user.
A further aim of the present invention is to provide a pack which in a strictly domestic setting also enables a preventive rat- or mouse-killing action, which is very effective and safe and which does not require any particular precaution vis-a-vis pets, children, older persons and people who may be unaware of the nature of the bait.
A further aim of the present invention consists in providing a pack having a particularly contained price, which in a strictly domestic setting provides effective rat- and mouse-killing action in extremely safe conditions.
The above-indicated aims are attained by a rat and mouse trap pack for domestic use, which comprises: at least a dispenser means provided with an internal pathway able to grant entry and exit to mice and rats, and with a regulated-access section for housing a predetermined quantity of poisonous bait for mice and rats transiting through the internal pathway; a quantity of bait which can be entirely contained internally of the regulated-access section of the dispenser means following an opening of the pack, such as to prevent any involuntary contact of the bait with persons and animals present in a domestic environment.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The characteristics of the invention will emerge in the following, in which some preferred but not exclusive embodiments are described with reference to the accompanying figures of the drawings, in which:
figure 1 schematically illustrates a plan view of the pack in a first embodiment thereof;
figure 2 is a similar plan view of the pack in a second embodiment thereof.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
With reference to the above figures of the drawings, numbers 1 and 10 denote preferred embodiments of the pack for domestic use for eliminating mice and rats, which comprises at least a dispenser means (2, 3) provided with an internal pathway which allows entry and exit of mice and rats and a regulated access section for housing a predetermined quantity of toxic bait 4 for mice and rats crossing the internal pathway; and the presence of a quantity of toxic bait 4, preferably a paraffin-waxed bait which can be completely contained, following opening of the pack (1 , 10), such as to prevent any involuntary contact of the bait 4 with persons and animals present in the domestic setting.
In the first embodiment, illustrated in figure 1 , the pack 1 contains a dispenser means 2, for example a T-dispenser, and a quantity of solid bait 4 which can be completely contained internally of the regulated- entry housing section of the dispenser means 2.
In this case the dispenser organ 2 comprises, in known ways, a transversal cylindrical portion 20, destined to be rested on a base surface thereof and internally identifying the internal pathway for entry and exit of mice and rats, and a longitudinal cylindrical portion 21 which is fitted at an end in proximity of the half-way point of the transversal point 20, internally identifying the regulated-access section for housing the solid bait 4.
Access to the bait 4 housing section is regulated by a safety lock, preferably closed by a key, which can prevent any involuntary contact of the bait 4 with persons and animals present in the domestic setting, after opening of the pack 1.
In the second embodiment, illustrated in figure 2, the pack 10 contains a pair of dispenser means 3, for example of the box-geometry type, and a quantity of solid bait 4 which can be entirely contained in the respective housing sections of the dispenser means 3.
In this case the dispenser means 3 comprises, in known ways, a box structure identified by a lower base 30 from which extend a pair of containing lateral flanks 31 , an opposite upper arched portion 32 and a pair of heads 33 provided with corresponding sections for entry and/or exit of mice and rats into and out of the internal pathway. The box structure is generally defined by two half-shells (not illustrated) which in an open configuration enable positioning of the bait 4, and in a closed configuration identify the regulated-access section for housing the solid bait 4.
Access to the housing section of the bait 4 is regulated by a safety lock, preferably a key-lock, which establishes the closed configuration of the half-shells and prevents any involuntary contact of the bait 4 with persons and animals in the domestic setting after the pack 10 has been opened.
Purely by way of example, the solid bait 4 is constituted by a plurality of packets 40 having a right-angled parallelepiped geometry, preferably four packets 40 having an overall weight of at least 100 grams.
A dose of four packets 40 of bait 4 constitutes an entire supply for a T- type dispenser means 2 (figure 1), or two dispenser means 3 of the box-geometry type (figure 2) which can each contain two packets 40 of bait 4.
The pack (1, 10) can advantageously include a series of elastic bands for stabilising the dispenser means (2, 3) to support elements, preferably guttering, poles, seats, furniture, fences etc.
This possibility of securely locating is particularly suitable for T-type dispenser means 2, preferably used in an external environment, for example in gardens, alleys, garages etc., and is also suitable for box- geometry-type dispenser means 3, preferably used inside buildings.
All of the above clearly describes how the pack for domestic use of the invention, for elimination of mice and rats is able to guarantee a particularly effective and simple use, even for a non-professional user, thanks to the fact that the instructions for use are limited and simple, and can be printed and closed together with the pack.
The contents of the pack, strictly for domestic use, provide an extremely effective and safe rat and mouse trap that can prevent any involuntary contact of the bait and people and animals in the domestic setting, after the pack has been opened.
This pack, which also is very inexpensive to produce, can give effective rat- and mouse-elimination in very safe conditions, and avoids leaving the bait anywhere where it might be exposed and cause harm within the domestic environment.
In this way any situation in which the bait might be involuntarily ingested or even only placed in contact with the skin is prevented, and any intoxication attributable to such an event, even the death of people and/or animals, is made impossible.
The present invention is obviously described, with reference to the accompanying figures of the drawings, purely by way of non-limiting example, and it is therefore clear that all modifications and variants may be brought to it without its forsaking the ambit of protection defined in the following claims.
