Abstract

Une centrale à charbon de petite à moyenne taille classique est censée générer 10 à 15 % d'électricité en moins lors de la mise en œuvre de contrôles d'émissions/de gaz à effet de serre modernes. L'invention concerne un procédé de réhabilitation d'une centrale à charbon existante avec gazéification à la vapeur, où le gazogène (320) fonctionne avec une absence sensible de gaz tels que l'air ou l'oxygène et utilise de la vapeur pour activer le charbon pour produire un gaz de synthèse. L'incorporation du gazogène à charbon (320) dans une centrale existante permet d'augmenter la puissance de production de la centrale existante, tout en réduisant les émissions et les gaz à effet de serre nocifs.
