Abstract

The capping device for containers comprise a capping head (10) borne swivelling according to a basically horizontal axis; a series of capping members (32) borne by the capping head (10) in positions angularly distributed and that can be oscillated through respective lever support members (37) according to axis parallel to the rotation axis of the capping head (10); handling means (11) suitable to put in rotation the capping head (10) bearing the capping means (32); control means (41) suitable to engage the lever support members (37) of the capping members (32), during the rotation of the capping head (10), to control the angular rotation of the capping members (32) between an upper position (32a) to collect the respective caps (6) from a feeding station of the caps and a lower position (32b), basically overturned as regards the previous one, of capping the containers (2) in correspondence with a capping station (C) arranged along a transport line (3) of the filling machine.
