Abstract

A heat exchanger for a freezer such as a heat exchanger of an outdoor device of an air conditioner is divided, corresponding to an upper path and a lower path, into a plurality of heat exchange sections including at least an upper stage heat exchange section where a coolant does not remain and a lower stage heat exchange section where the coolant remains. Each of branched pipes corresponding to the respective heat exchange sections has an electronic expansion valve and a heat exchange sensor and uses them to respectively adjust coolant pressures corresponding to the respective heat exchange sections. This can prevent lowering of the heat exchange performance during an intermediate load operation and reduce the total input power amount including an input power amount for driving a fan, which in turns saves energy.
