Abstract

 製造コストの低いチェーンテンショナを提供する。  シリンダ11内にプランジャ14を摺動可能に挿入してシリンダ11内に圧力室15を形成し、給油通路16をシリンダ11に設け、その給油通路16の圧力室15側の端部にチェックバルブ17を設け、プランジャ14とシリンダ11の摺動面間にリーク隙間18を形成し、圧力室15内に組み込んだリターンスプリング28でプランジャ14をシリンダ11から突出する方向に付勢し、そのプランジャ14でチェーン6を押圧するようにしたチェーンテンショナ1において、プランジャ14のシリンダ11からの突出端面から圧力室15に至る貫通孔31をプランジャ14に設け、その貫通孔31に、外周に雄ねじ33を有するプラグ32を圧入して貫通孔31の内周とプラグ32の外周との間に螺旋状のエア抜き通路34を形成する。
