Abstract

Even if image information with digital watermark information embedded is printed on various printable media such as paper or a synthetic resin sheet with high resolution, a digital watermark embedding method by which digital watermark information originally embedded in the images can be detected from the images printed on the media and the watermark information is embedded in a still image comprises: a first step of generating a digital watermark pattern image with the digital watermark information patterned; a second step of generating a printing digital watermark pattern image made so that the same pixel information continues by a predetermined number in the vertical and horizontal directions by multiplying the pixel information of the digital watermark pattern image generated in the first step by a predetermined number in the vertical and horizontal directions; and a third step of combining the printing digital watermark pattern image generated in the second step and the still image to embed the printing digital watermark pattern image in the still image.
