Abstract

The invention relates to a vehicle lighting system having a luminous element for lighting, illuminating, or signaling, the emitted light of which can be modified in intensity, spectral composition, or both, starting from an initial value, and can be returned to the initial value within such a short interval that the human eye does not perceive any variation in brightness or color, and a switching unit coupled to the luminous element modifying the luminous element within the short interval in intensity, spectral composition, or both, based on an encoded signal, starting from an initial value, and returning to the initial value.
