Description
A BILLBOARD WITH SINGLE DRIVE CENTER Technical Field
5 The invention is related to the billboards which are used to show advertisements, notices and other similar visual presentations and are capable of automatically running the images in a certain order and sequence.
The said invention is related to a billboard in which the advertisement surface iso wound by using a single drive center, which activates the advertisement surface, which consumes less energy by driving at least one of the rollers and attaching the other one to a spring, in which fewer parts are used and which keeps the advertisement surface stretched. 5 Background of the Invention
As known, in the present day, advertisements, notices and visual presentations are presented via presentation media which possess a different technique and specifications. The said presentation media are called billboards. 0
As known, the billboards used in the present technique comprise of an outer frame structure of a certain size, a transparent surface in the front of the frame (glass), a moving surface on which such visual data as advertisements, notices, etc. are displayed behind the transparent surface and a stand. The billboard which? comprises of such components in the outer appearance has in its frame a drive center which ensures the linear movement of the advertisement surface upward and downward and movement transmission components.
Not only the billboards used in the present technique have a different technique and0 . specifications but technological improvements and different techniques are also seriously generated in this field. However, some technical problems are experienced in the billboards used in the present technique. For instance, due to the fact that the motors activating the advertisement surface and providing the rollers with movement do not have a competent cooling system, failures occur due to the5 increase in the cumulative motor temperature. Even if for a short while, falter of one of the two motors from time to time causes such damages as picture piling or tearing. Similar failures occur in the step motor systems which run in this way as well. In outdoor applications, extremely significant failures occur as a result of such applications which are carried out in order to achieve poster work both in the front and the back by transmitting power from the motor to the take-up tubes by means of gears and chains due to excessive internal cabinet temperature and of such adverse conditions which will be caused by the oil vapor as the internal cabinet temperature rises. Further, the surface of the poster is disturbed. Those applications which are run by means of five gears and two transmission chains are much more costly than a 12V DC motor.
Due to the fact that there is no ventilation in those applications running in the outdoor, the internal cabinet temperature rises too high, thus damaging such components as electronic cards and sensors, etc. at a temperature of 60-700C. There are a great many applications concerning billboards in the records of the Turkish Patent Institution. Among such applications, there is a useful model for which an application was filed under no. TR200002486U on 24.08.2000. In such application, the invention is related to a billboard which may display a number of advertisements consecutively and allow the images to be viewed from each angle. It is characterized by the tubes one of which stops when the other is driven at the time of winding the canvas and the shafts through which the canvas passes in order to prevent wrinkling at the time of winding, the mechanism which causes the frame to rotate in a circular motion around an axis and the optical sensors preventing the canvas from displacement during the winding of the canvas (within the allowed range).
Yet another application is the one for a useful model which was filed under no. TR 2002 00487 U on 20.02.2002. In such application, the invention is related to a removable billboard which has been designed for use both indoors and outdoors, whose poster may be easily replaced and is water-tight. The indoor and outdoor billboard which has been developed by this invention is characterized by an inner surface on which the poster is placed, a transparent outer surface which is laid over the inner one, detachable side profiles which hold this surface and the poster, a seal, a board frame which bears these components and a lower surface and wheels. Poster replacement operation is carried out by taking the poster behind the detachable side profiles out of the inner surface and by replacing it with a new poster and then closing the side profiles.
