Abstract

A vertically feeding mechanism (12) has a lift frame (16) that moves vertically, a carrier (18) that moves horizontally in a feeding direction relative to the lift frame (16), a sub carrier (20) that moves horizontally and linearly in the feeding direction relative to the carrier (18), a driven mechanism (30) that moves the sub carrier (20) in operative association with the movement of the carrier (18). The driven mechanism (30) has a pair of rotation bodies (31) that is rotatably supported at an interval at the front and rear, relative to the feeding direction, of the carrier (18), and also has an endless cord body (33) that is wrapped around the pair of rotation bodies (31). The endless cord body (33) is connected and fixed at one part thereof to the lift frame (16). The sub carrier is connected to that part of the endless cord body (33) which is located on the cord body at a position that is reached from the position, as the origin, at which the endless cord is connected to the lift frame after passing through the rotation bodies.
