Abstract

A game device (1) has a fixed main body (100), a movable controller (8) held by a player, and a fixed display part (12). The controller (8) has a light source (85). The display part (12) has a screen (3). The main body (100) has light receiving units (9L, 9R) which receive light emitted from the light source (85) and detect its light receiving intensity and a processor (16). The processor (16) detects the position of the controller (8) on the basis of the light receiving intensity detected by each light receiving unit (9L, 9R), calculates an intersection position on the screen (3) where a straight line passing through the detected position and a predetermined reference position intersects the screen (3), and so controls the display part (12) as to display an image indicating an intersection at the intersection position on the screen (3).
