Abstract

An article management system which can facilitate exhibition and inspection of articles. The article management system manages articles exhibited in a showcase by using a computer. The article management system comprises an article shelf on which a pallet containing articles can be mounted, a loop antenna provided communicably with an RFID tag attached to the article in the pallet mounted on the article shelf, and a reader/writer performing communication with the RFID tag through the loop antenna when the pallet is mounted on the article shelf and reading out article information stored in the RFID tag. The computer is provided with a control section for managing the article based on the article information of the RFID tag read out by means of the reader/writer.
