Abstract

Apparatus for the high speed transfer of parts from a parts feeder means to a parts receiving means with a parts delivery pocket, the apparatus comprises a rotating first intermediate turret provided with parts transfer pockets, and it is arranged between the parts feeder and receiving means, wherein the intermediate turret has a periodically changing surface speed during each full revolution, and during rotation of the intermediate turret at predetermined discrete first angular positions the transfer pockets thereof are temporarily and discretely in opposite position with the delivery pocket of the feeding means, and at predetermined discrete second angular positions the transfer pockets are temporarily and discretely in opposite position with the pockets of the parts receiving turret, the first and second angular positions are angularly offset so that between two subsequent ones of the first angular positions there is always one of said second angular position, and the periodically changing surface speed of the intermediate turret is selected in such a way that in the first of the angular positions there will be essentially no relative speed between the intermediate turret and the parts delivery pocket, and during the second angular positions there will be essentially no relative speed between the intermediate turret and the pockets of the parts receiving means.
