Abstract
A binuclear ruthenium complex dye is obtained by reacting a ruthenium complex (1) represented by the general formula (1) below and a ruthenium complex (2) represented by the formula (2-1) below or the formula (2-2) below, and then isolating the reaction product by adding an acid so that the pH of the reaction liquid is more than 2.5 but not more than 5. (1) (In the formula, Y represents a halogen atom.) (2-1) (2-2)
