Description
Description
A COOKING DEVICE
[0001] The present invention relates to mounting of a cook top plate on a cooking device resiliently.
[0002] The cook top disposed on the top surface of the cooking devices and including burners and hot plates thereon for performing the cooking process is produced of steel sheet material and coated with enamel. During production, while the enamel coated cook top is being secured on the frame, it can be subjected to tensions and impacts and this may result in damaging the enamel which is a fragile material. The cook tops are closed by a coverlid when not in use if so desired. The tensions that occur while opening, closing the coverlid, particularly at regions wherein the hinges connect the coverlid to the body, can also affect the cook top and result in damages of the enamel. In state of the art, connection springs are used to resiliently mount the cook top on the frame however enamel cracking in the cook top cannot be avoided particularly while opening, closing the coverlid.
[0003] In state of the art German Patent Document No DE19613320, a work surface fixing system used in household appliances is explained. The fixing system comprises a pair of spring sockets at opposite ends of the front panel extending across the top front edge of the household appliance.
[0004] The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooking device wherein the enamel damages are prevented by reducing the tensions affecting on the cook top.
[0005] The cooking device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is explicated in the claims.
[0006] While the cooking device is manufactured, the cook top including hot plates - gas burners thereon is mounted over the two sidewalls, front panel and the rear wall forming the body. A coverlid is provided on the cook top and the coverlid is connected to the body by means of two lid hinges. In the cooking device, furthermore one support plate each is provided behind the body, at the connection points in the upper corners of the cook top,
sidewalls and the rear wall.
[0007] In the cooking device of the present invention, connection elements having impact attenuation features, preferably produced of plastic material, are disposed between the support plates and the cook top that is seated on the support plates. The connection elements are mounted to the cook top by shape locking without screws and secured to the support plates under the cook top by screws. Thus, the connection elements allow the cook top to be displaced a small amount, for example 1 - 2 mm. on the support plates, maintaining to attenuate the forces transmitted from the support plate to the cook top and damaging of the cook top is prevented.
[0008] The connection elements furthermore prevent the tensions formed in the support plates, due to forces acting on the hinge bearings from the lid hinges during the opening, closing of the coverlid, to be transmitted to the cook top.
[0009] In the connection element, a support plate housing wherein the upper extension of the support plate is fitted, a channel wherein the downward bent side of the cook top is fitted and a screw hole for securing to the support plate by screwing are provided.
[0010] In the cooking device of the present invention, the forces transmitted from the rear wall, side walls and the lid hinges to the support plates and to the cook top from the support plates are attenuated between the support plates and the cook top by means of the connection elements thus preventing the enamel cracking that might occur in the cook top.
[0011] The cooking device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

[0017] Figure 6 - is the perspective view of a connection element.
[0018] Figure 7 - is the perspective view of a connection element from another angle. [0019] Figure 8 - is the schematic cross-sectional view of a cook top, a connection element and a support plate secured to the connection element by screws. [0020] The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
1. Cooking device
2. Side wall
3. Rear wall
4. Cook top
5. Coverlid
6. Lid hinge
7. Support plate
8. Upper extension
9. Side extension
10. Hinge bearing
11. Connection element
12. Support plate housing
13. Channel
14. Screw hole
[0021] The cooking device (1) comprises a body wherein the cooking process is performed on the upper surface and/or the interior volume, two side walls (2) and a rear wall (3) forming the body, a cook top (4) mounted on the body, containing the burners and/or electrical hot plates for heating and/or cooking, a coverlid (5) for closing over the cook top (4), more than one lid hinge (6) connecting the coverlid (5) to the body, and two support plates (7) behind the body, at the connection points in the upper corners of the cook top (4), side walls (2) and the rear wall (3) for bearing the lid hinges (6) (Figure 1).
[0022] The support plate (7) comprises an upper extension (8) for connecting thereof to the cook top (4), a side extension (9) for connecting to the sidewalls (2) and the rear wall (3) and one or more hinge bearings (10) for bearing the lid hinge (6) (Figures 3, 8).
[0023] The support plates (7) are connected to the connection points of the cook top (4), side wall (2) and the rear wall (3) in the portion of the cook top (4) extending outwards from the body and the tensions formed at the cook top (4), side wall (2) and the rear wall (3) during assembly and utilization are supported by the support plates (7). The support plates (7) furthermore support the forces acting on the lid hinges (6) during opening, closing of the coverlid (5) by means of the hinge bearings (10). The cook top (4) is covered by enamel and the tensions formed in the support plates (7) are transmitted to the cook top (4) since it is seated on the support plates (7) at the rear of the body.
[0024] The cooking device (1) of the present invention comprises one or more connection elements (11),
- Preferably produced of plastic material, having impact attenuation properties,
- Disposed between the cook top (4) and the support plates (7) for connecting the support plates to the cook top (4),
- Connected to the cook top (4) shape-lockingly, without permanent fixing and secured to the support plates (7) by screwing and
- Attenuating the forces transmitted from the support plates (7) to the cook top (4) (Figures 6, 7, 8).
[0025] In the cooking device (1) of the present invention, the cook top (4), when placed on the support plates (7), does not directly contact with the support plates (7) but is seated on the connection elements (11) on the support plates (7). The connection elements (11) are secured only to the support plates (7) by a fastening element like the screw and not secured to the cook top (4) by screws. The shape locking connection between the connection elements (11) and the cook top (4) allow small displacements, for example 1 -2 mm. of the cook top (4) on the support plates (7).
[0026] The connection element (11) comprises a channel (13) for fitting thereof to the cook top (4) by shape locking into the downward bent side of the cook top (4) without screwing, a support plate housing (12) wherein the upper extension (8) is seated and a screw hole (14) for securing thereof to the support plate (7) by screwing (Figures 6, 7, 8).
[0027] The connection elements (11) furthermore prevent the tensions formed in the support plates (7), due to forces acting on the hinge bearings (10) from the lid hinges (6) during the opening, closing of the coverlid (5), to be transmitted to the cook top (4).
[0028] The connection element (11 ) is fitted into the side of the support plate (7) of the cook top (4) bent downwards by means of the channel (13) and holds on to the cook top (4) by surrounding the side of the cook top (4) from the front and the rear. The connection element (11) is secured to the support plate (7) by screwing from the screw hole (14) after the upper extensions (8) of the support plates (7) are seated in the support plate housing (12). The support plates (7) are moreover fastened to the sidewalls (2) by means of their side extensions (9) (Figure 8).
[0029] In the cooking device (1) of the present invention, the forces transmitted from the rear wall (3), side walls (2), coverlid (5) and the lid hinges (6) to the support plates (7) are attenuated between the support plates (7) - cook top (4) by means of the connection elements (11) disposed between the support plates (7) and the cook top (4), considerably reducing the tensions transmitted to the cook top (4) and preventing the enamel cracking that might occur in the cook top (4).
