Abstract

 切削用もしくは研削用の棒状工具(11)、棒状工具に付設されかつ電源(12)に接続している超音波振動子(13)、棒状工具をその周囲にて把持している工具把持具(14)、および下端部にて工具把持具を保持する回転軸(15)を含み、前記の工具把持具による棒状工具の把持が、棒状工具の周囲に配置された筒状の超音波振動伝播遮断手段、ただし、この超音波振動伝播遮断手段は、環状に形成した連続もしくは非連続の空気相を含む環状空気相含有帯域を多重に配置してなる多重環状空気相含有筒体からなり、この多重環状空気相含有筒体により、超音波振動子にて発生する超音波振動の工具把持具を介する回転軸への直線的な伝播が遮断されるように構成されている、を介してなされている切削もしくは研削装置は、棒状工具に付与する超音波振動が、工具把持具に殆ど伝播することなく、棒状工具を超音波振動させるために有効に利用される。
