Abstract
本発明の光波形整形装置は、WDM信号光を第1の光増幅器で増幅した後に第1の非線形媒質に入力し、該第1の非線形媒質でのSPMにより各波長の信号光のスペクトルを拡大して信号成分および雑音成分を分離し、各々のスペクトルについて短波長側の信号成分のみを光フィルタで一括して抽出する。そして、該光フィルタの出力光を第2の光増幅器で増幅した後に第2の非線形媒質に入力し、該第2の非線形媒質での自己周波数シフトにより各信号光の波長を長波長側に一括してシフトし入力時の信号光波長に戻す。これにより、WDM信号光に含まれる各波長の信号光を一括して波形整形でき、かつ、波形整形の前後で各信号光の波長を正確に保持することが可能になる。
