Abstract

 排気通路の折返部を有し、コンパクトにされた内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、下流側の排気通路に配置された還元触媒に対して、還元剤を均一に分散させて流入させることができる排気浄化装置を提供する。  折返部を有する排気通路と、折返部に配置され排気通路中に還元剤を供給する還元剤供給部と、折返部よりも下流側の排気通路に配置され窒素酸化物を還元剤を用いて還元浄化する還元触媒と、を備えた排気浄化装置であって、排気浄化装置の筐体は、上流側の排気通路及び下流側の排気通路が収容された本体部と、上流側の排気通路の出口開口及び下流側排気通路の入口開口を有する本体部の側面に装着された蓋部と、を含み、折返部は本体部及び蓋部によって囲まれる空間からなっており、蓋部における下流側排気通路の入口開口と対向する対向面に、還元剤が混合された排気ガスの流れ方向を下流側排気通路に向けるための誘導部が一体成形される。
