Abstract

 ある仮想面に沿って2次元的に配列された複数の単位構造を有する再帰性反射層10を備え、再帰性反射層10からの反射光を利用して表示を行う反射型表示装置であって、背面基板32に形成されたゲート配線35と、背面基板32に形成され、前面基板30の側から見てゲート配線35に交差するソース配線34と、背面基板32の上に形成され、対応するゲート配線35に供給される信号に応答して動作するスイッチング素子33と、スイッチング素子33を介して、対応するソース配線34に電気的に接続され得る画素電極36と、画素電極36に対向して配置される対向電極38とを含んでおり、再帰性反射層10の各単位構造は、互いに直交する3面からなる凹部を有し、前面基板30の側から見て、ゲート配線35およびソース配線34は、それぞれ、各単位構造における3面のそれぞれの法線方向の仮想面上における方位角方向の何れに対しても7°以上の角度をなす。
