Boîte de vitesses (1) pour véhicule automobile, comprenant un embrayage (23) et une roue libre (11) intercalée entre un pignon fou (12) et un premier synchroniseur (10) apte à établir un rapport de marche avant à roue libre. La boîte de vitesses (1) présente au moins un autre rapport de marche avant d' ordre supérieur au rapport à roue libre. Lorsque le rapport de marche avant à roue libre est actionné et que l' embrayage est ouvert, un des autres rapports de marche avant d' ordre supérieur au rapport à roue libre est également actionné.
