Abstract
A cover of the rear bumper of a car comprises a back part (1), which during the use of the cover (10) reaches into the car boot, a front part (4), which during the use of the cover (10) covers at least a part of the outer surface of the rear bumper of the car, and an intermediate- part (2), connecting the rear part (1) and the front part (4), wherein the cover (10) comprises a hole (5) for the lock of the car boot.
Description
A cover of the rear bumper of a car
Field of Invention
The present invention concerns to a cover of the rear bumper of a car.
Background of the Invention
During loading, unloading and handling of items in the boot of a car the handling person's clothes often get soiled due to the contact of his/her clothes with the dirty surface of the rear bumper. This shortcoming has not been solved so far with an accessory that would always be readily available for the user to prevent the above mentioned soiling.
Another shortcoming in the sphere of car accessories is the fact that from the point of view of traffic safety the moment when the vehicle has to stop on a road for any reason and the driver has not managed to place the warning triangle in the required distance from the vehicle on the road yet, or when on the other hand the driver has removed the triangle and is returning to the car is not covered at present. In addition, experience shows that a warning triangle is not always sufficient and may not be clearly visible, mainly considering the fact that the warning triangle may not always be positioned in a place that is the most suitable from the work safety point of view in the particular situation (proper distance from the vehicle, unsuitable angle of the triangle, its positioning behind a bend or partial coverage by vegetation, etc.) . What happens very often is that the driver does not position the triangle to the prescribed distance or the triangle is knocked down by a passing vehicle or gets soiled by splashed mud from the road. In such cases there in
no guarantee that the drivers will be in time and sufficiently- notified of the fact that there is a vehicle standing on the road.
Also, in a situation when the car is being towed away by a towing vehicle, a warning triangle must only be placed behind the rear window of the car, where there may not be enough space for optimum positioning that would guarantee full visibility of the warning triangle.
The aim of the present invention is to design a means that would make it possible to solve the above mentioned shortcomings in the sphere of car accessories.
Summary of the invention
The above mentioned aim of the invention is fulfilled by a cover of the rear bumper of a car whose principle consists in the fact that it contains a back part, which during the use of the cover reaches into the boot of the car, a front part, which during the use of the cover covers at least a part of the external surface of the rear bumper of the car, and an intermediate part connecting the back part and the front part while the cover contains a hole for the car boot lock.
In accordance with one of the advantageous embodiments the outer surface of the front part is provided with at least one safety warning element. The safety warning element may be for example the image of a warning triangle, a reflective stripe, an inscription combined with skew stripes or any combination of these elements.
The material of the cover is beneficially a textile with artificial fibre or advantageously at least a part of the cover may be made of a plastic board.
In one of advantageous embodiments of the invention the back part of the cover is equipped with a holding element or elements for attaching the element to the boot.
In accordance with another one of the advantageous embodiments the front part of the cover is equipped with at least one holding means for fixing the cover to the rear bumper of the car.
The cover may be beneficially fixed to the front of the boot.
In accordance with a beneficial embodiment the material and design of the cover allows its folding or rolling up after the use of the cover for the purpose of its storing.
The cover is stored beneficially in the rolled-up or folded form in the boot of the car, while if the design of the car front makes it possible, the cover may be stored in the front of the boot after use.
It is advantageous if the cover is equipped with at least one storage pocket .
The front part, back part and intermediate part are beneficially integral parts of the cover. Alternatively, the back part and the front part are mechanically or chemically connected to the intermediate part, e.g. by sewing, gluing, or welding.
Brief Description of the drawings
The invention will be further clarified in a more detailed way with the use of the description of the examples of its embodiments with reference to the attached drawings, where fig. 1 schematically shows the rear bumper cover positioned in a plane shape, figs. Ia, Ib and Ic show the cover from fig. 1 equipped with a safety warning element and figs. 2a, 2b and 2c show the corresponding cover from figs. Ia, Ib and Ic placed in the working position over the car bumper.
Description of the preferred embodiment
Fig. 1 shows the cover of the rear bumper of a car in accordance with this invention, positioned in a plane shape. The cover ]J) in the displayed plane arrangement is a body whose width and height considerably exceed its thickness, so it can be described as a flat-shaped object. The cover IO contains the back part _1, which in the working position of the cover reaches into the car boot. The working position means the position of the cover IJ), when the cover is placed on the car (figs. 2a, 2b and 2c), i.e. during its use. The cover I^ further contains the intermediate part 2^ which connects the bank part 1_ and the front part £. The front part <1 in the working position of the cover 1Q covers at least a part of the outer surface of the car bumper.
The above mentioned parts _1, 2^ and 4_ can be connected to each other by sewing, heat welding, etc. or they are integral parts of the body of the cover 10.
The material of the cover IJ) is beneficially a textile with artificial fibre. However, the cover IJD, or at least its part may be produced of thin plastic boards. The adjacent parts 1_,
2_, and 4_ can change their mutual position by folding along the bending lines leading between these parts H1, 2_, and 4.
The intermediate part 2_ can be divided with the book lock hole ES into two subsections. Generally, the hole 5^ may reach into the back part l±. too# depending on the design of position of the lock of the particular car type. The hole 5 allows to close the boot with the boot lid, leaving the cover IJ) in the working position. In such a case there is no danger of the items in the car being stolen while the warning function of the cover H1C) may be maintained (if the cover is equipped with a safety warning element) .
The outer surface of the front part A_ - i.e. the surface facing outwards is beneficially equipped with at least one safety element, which can be e.g. the image 6^ of a warning triangle (figs. Ia, 2a), a reflective stripe 1_ (figs. Ib, 2b), an inscription in combination with skew strips (figs. Ic, 2c), or of course any suitable combination of safety elements.
The back part 1. of the cover I1O is beneficially equipped with a holding element or elements (not displayed) for attachment of the cover _10. to the boot, beneficially to its rear wall. The rear wall is the wall that is approximately parallel to the rear bumper and is the nearest of the boot walls to the bumper. Alternatively, if the design of the rear front of the boot makes it possible, the cover IJ) may be attached in the front of the boot, advantageously in such a way that after using and folding it can be stored in the front of the boot again.
The front part 4_ of the cover IJD is beneficially equipped with a holding element or elements for attaching the cover IJ) to the rear bumper of the car. An example of such a holding
element are lugs with hooks, suction cups, non-permanent joints, etc.
As indicated above, the material of the cover ^O allows folding or rolling-up of the cover I1O after its use to obtain a shape that is suitable for storage in the car boot .
The cover IJ) can be advantageously equipped with pockets (not shown) for storage of e.g. tools, other aids, etc. designed for use in the standing condition of the car.
The cover IJD of the rear bumper may also be placed on a towed vehicle as an additional safety element - during towing the warning triangle must be positioned behind the window of the vehicle, where there may not always be enough space for its optimum positioning that will ensure full visibility of the triangle.
The invention described above is not only limited to the described examples of its embodiments, but the scope of the proposed protection also includes modifications and adaptations that do not deviate from the framework defined by the following patent claims.
It is also worth mentioning that the rear bumper cover in accordance with the present invention does not replace the compulsory equipment in the sense of the corresponding legal regulations, but that it constitutes its suitable complement.
