Abstract

Disclosed is a toner binder which is excellent in both low-temperature fixability and blocking resistance. Also disclosed is a toner using such a toner binder. Specifically disclosed is a toner binder characterized by containing a polyester resin (A) described below. A polyester resin (A) obtained by polycondensing a polyol component (x) and a polycarboxylic acid component (y). The polycarboxylic acid component (y) contains not less than 70% by mole of terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid and/or their lower alkyl ester (wherein the alkyl group has 1-4 carbon atoms) or hydroxyalkyl ester (wherein the alkyl group has 1-4 carbon atoms). The polyol constituting the polyester resin (A) is composed of at least 80-99.99% by mole of 1,2-propylene glycol and 0.01-11% by mole of neopentyl glycol.
