Abstract
An earthquake prediction apparatus (100) for predicting an earthquake with a very high accuracy by using a simple device used at not only a specialized observatory but a general home. The earthquake prediction apparatus (100) comprises a measuring unit (120) for measuring the amount of movement of the tail of an animal and an earthquake judging unit (130) for judging whether or not the measured amount of movement of the tail reaches a predetermined threshold and inferring that an earthquake will occur if the measured amount of movement is judged to reach the threshold.
