Abstract

A display panel has a chip pipe (1) fitted to a vent hole (8) formed in one substrate constituting the display panel, and the panel has a contact region where one substrate is brought into close contact with an end face of the chip pipe so that they surround the vent hole. A sealing member (3) arranged between one substrate and the chip pipe so that it surrounds the contact region seals the substrate and the chip pipe, and the contact region is arranged. Thus, the melted sealing member is prevented from flowing into the chip pipe and the display panel, and the chip pipe is depressed to a vertical direction with respect to the substrate so as to seal them. Thus, inclination of the chip pipe in a process is suppressed, and the chip pipe and the substrate are satisfactorily bonded.
