Abstract

 多視点画像を符号化するにあたり、符号化対象の画像を撮影したカメラの視点と異なる視点における既に符号済みの参照カメラ画像と、その参照カメラ画像と符号化対象の画像との間の視差情報とから、符号化対象の画像を撮影したカメラに対する合成画像を生成して符号化対象の画像を符号化する映像符号化装置。これから符号化する符号化対象領域の入力画像と、それに対する前記合成画像との差分画像の予測画像を生成し、前記予測差分画像と符号化対象領域の前記合成画像との和で表される、その領域の予測画像を生成し、前記符号化対象領域の予測画像とその領域の符号化対象画像との差で表される、予測残差を符号化する。
