- Knockdown (KD) data can then be collected from the pooled mosquitoes at predetermined times out to 24-hours. For speed of knockdown, the mosquito can be left in the cone and the time to KD recorded for each individual mosquito until the 6 th of 11 insects (median) goes down. Each KD mosquito is removed as it goes down to prevent recounting that insect if it once again flies. All mosquitoes are then held as described previously for a 24-hour KD count. All results are summarized in table 1.
