Abstract
Provided are a stirring device for stirring liquid in a container by a sound wave, and an automatic analyzer. The stirring device (20) includes a surface acoustic wave element (23) for generating a sound wave for stirring the liquid and also includes a sound absorption member (24) for absorbing a part of the sound wave emitted by the surface acoustic wave element. The surface acoustic wave element (23) has a piezoelectric substrate (23a) installed on the container (5) and also has an electrode (23b) formed on the piezoelectric substrate. The sound absorption member (24) is installed either on that surface of the piezoelectric substrate which is different from the surface where the electrode is formed or on the outer wall surface of the container. The automatic analyzer stirs a sample and a reagent by the stirring device (20) and optically analyzes the reaction liquid.
