Abstract

Provided is a flow control valve, which increases or decreases a flow rate widely and monotonously according to the turn of an operation knob and which has so little internal wear that it does not have any remarkable characteristic deterioration even if abrasion powder or foreign substance should exist in the flow passage. Also provided are a dial position deciding scale, a program and so on for setting the flow rate conveniently and easily when the flow control valve is set to a target flow rate. The flow control valve comprises a sliding shaft (332) and a sliding cylindrical face (321a) fitted so mutually as to slide in the axial directions, and a moving mechanism for moving the sliding shaft (332) in the axial directions. At least one of the sliding shaft (332) and the sliding cylindrical face (321a) has a plurality of taper grooves (333) formed to have a specific region acting as a fluid passage. These taper grooves (333) are shaped to have their flow resistances gradually decreased or increased along the longitudinal direction. The dial position deciding scale and the program are constituted to have a gauge according to the relation of the following formula (1) and to perform calculations. Q = ρ X ΔP/R Formula (1).
