Abstract

 本発明による液晶表示装置(100)は、透過状態と散乱状態とを取り得る散乱型液晶層(140)を含む散乱液晶パネル(110)と、再帰性反射板(150)とを備える。再帰性反射板(150)と組み合わせる前の散乱液晶パネル(110)は、散乱液晶パネル(110)の背面(110b)から入射し前面(110a)から出射する光のうち前面(110a)の法線方向からの角度が0度から10度までの範囲で出射する光の散乱強度の平均値をI0-10と表し、20度から30度までの範囲で出射する光の散乱強度の平均値をI20-30と表すと、0.45≦log(I0-10/I20-30)≦1.48の関係を満たす。
