Abstract

Provided is a dust collecting device (1) comprising a cyclone drum (2) for circulating the air, which is introduced from an air inlet (24) disposed in the side face of the upper portion of an outer cylinder portion (21), between the outer cylinder portion (21) and an inner chamber portion (22) arranged on the inner side of the former, thereby to separate the dust or the like in the air centrifugally so that the air separated from the dust or the like is guided from the lower end to the upper end of the inner chamber portion (22), and a chamber box (3) disposed over the cyclone drum (2). The chamber box (3) has its internal diameter made substantially equal to or larger than the internal diameter of the inner chamber portion (22), and an air outlet (31) for discharging the air circumferentially is formed in the side face of the chamber box (3). With this constitution, the dust collecting device (1) can be rationally installed in the limited space of a house, thereby to improve especially the execution of piping works and the space-saving property.
