FIG. 2 is a flowchart illustrating a method of providing delivery information according to an embodiment of the present invention.
BEST MODE
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described more fully with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown. FIG. 1 is a block diagram illustrating a system for providing delivery information according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The system includes a member information database 101 , a delivery information storage unit 102, a request detector 103, and a delivery information output unit 104. According to the system, delivery information about an ordered product can be provided to each member through a separate web page or through an Internet messenger program. Functions of each constitution will now be described in detail.
The member information database 101 stores information for identifying each member. Here, the information for identifying each member contains information for a delivery company to identify a member and information for a system to identify each member according to the current embodiment.
The information for the delivery company to identify a member may be at least one or two of a name, a phone number, and an address of an orderer. When such information is used, the delivery information can be obtained only using information about a product ordered by each member in a shopping mall, or the like.
Meanwhile, the delivery information can be provided to each member by the shopping mall, thereby allowing each member who ordered a product to receive the delivery information obtained from the delivery company without going through the delivery company. At this time, an ID, a password, or the like used when each member joined the shopping mall can be used as identifying information.
Any type of information which enables the delivery company or the shopping mall to identify each member can be used.
The information for the delivery company to identify each member, such as a number or a phone number, can be used as the information for the system to identify each member. Alternatively, separate identifying information may be used as the information for the system to identify each member.
When the system is operated in the form of a general web site, the separate identifying information may be an ID and a password registered in order to log into the web site. When the system is operated in the form of providing delivery information to each member through an Internet messenger program, the separate identifying information may be a messenger ID of each member.
Here, the ID and the password registered in order to log into the web site may be a name, a phone number, or the like of each member. The delivery information storage unit 102 stores delivery information of each member, the delivery information received from a delivery company or a company related to delivery of a shopping mall.
Here, the company related to delivery is a company which can provide the delivery information used in the system of the current embodiment. The delivery information of each member can be directly received from a system of each company or directly inputted by an operator of the system.
Also, the delivery information can be received whenever the delivery information is received from the company or the delivery information is changed. Whenever the delivery information is provided to each member, the delivery information may be requested and received from each company.
The request detector 103 detects whether the member requests the delivery information.
When the system is operated in the form of each member logging into a web page and provided with delivery information about a product that he/she ordered, the request detector considers the moment the member logs in as the moment the member requests delivery information, If the first screen shown right after the member logs in is a screen for notifying delivery information. If the first screen shown right after the member logs in is not a screen for notifying delivery information but a separate menu button is provided, and the delivery information is provided only when the member clicks the separate menu button, a determination on whether the member requests delivery information is based on whether the member clicked the separate menu button.
Alternatively, when the system is operated in the form of providing delivery information to each member through a messenger program, a determination on whether a member requests delivery information is based on whether the member logs into the messenger program, if the messenger program is set to provide the delivery information as soon as the member logs in. If the messenger program is set to provide the delivery information when the system is selected to be communicated with, through the messenger program, a determination on whether a member requests delivery information is based on whether the member requested a connection with the system, i.e. request to talk 1 :1 with the system.
Also, when the system is set to provide delivery information only when the member transmits a separate message about requesting delivery information, a determination on whether the member requests delivery information is based on whether the member requests delivery information through the messenger program. When the system is set to provide delivery information periodically while the member maintains the connection with the messenger program for a predetermined time, a determination on whether the member requests delivery information is based on whether the member is still connected to the messenger program when the set up period is reached. When it is set to provide delivery information only when the member, who logged into the messenger program, requests delivery information, the delivery information may be provided by analyzing a certain word or characters when the member transmits the word or characters. For example, if a sentence inputted by the member includes a word 'delivery', the messenger program analyzes the sentence and determines that the messenger is requesting delivery information, and thus provides the delivery information.
The function of analyzing a sentence input by a member may be further added to determine whether the member is requesting delivery information about all ordered products or some ordered products based on the sentence input by the member. For example, when a sentence includes a word 'company A' and 'delivery', it can be determined that the member is requesting delivery information of company A. When a name of a certain company is not included, it can be determined that the member is requesting delivery information of all companies.
When the messenger program determines which delivery information is requested, by using a determined character or word or by analyzing an inputted sentence, i.e. when the type of requested delivery information is determined, a separate operation for receiving requests from the members through the messenger program is not required.
When delivery information is provided through a web page, the requested delivery information can be determined using the same method described above using the sentence. Alternatively, a list of all companies that can provide delivery information can be prepared and a member can select a company from which he or she wants to receive delivery information.
The delivery information output unit 104 extracts and transmits delivery information about a product that each member ordered, to the corresponding member.
In detail, when the request detector 103 detects that the member registered in the member information database 101 requested delivery information, the delivery information output unit 104 checks whether delivery information about a product ordered by the member, who is connected to system, exists in the delivery information storage unit 102. When the delivery information exists, the delivery information is extracted and transmitted to a screen of a terminal of a user through a screen of a web browser or a window of a messenger program.
FIG. 2 is a flowchart illustrating a method of providing delivery information used in the system for providing delivery information according to an embodiment of the present invention. The method will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.
First, in order to use the system, each user has to join the system as a member and register identifying information. The identifying information of each member is stored in the member information database 101 in operation 201.
The identifying information may include identifying information for proving that each member is registered in the system and identifying information required to check delivery information about a product ordered by each member from a delivery company or a company related to delivery of products from a shopping mall.
The identifying information required to check delivery information can be at least one or two of a name, a phone number, an address, etc. of an orderer in order for the delivery company to identify the member. When a shopping mall obtains delivery information from a delivery company and provides the delivery information to each member, the identifying information required to check delivery information may be an ID, a password, or the like that the member used when joining the shopping mall. Accordingly, types of information used to obtain the delivery information of the registered member are not limited.
The identifying information for proving that each member is registered in the system may be the identifying information described above, i.e. a name, a phone number, or the like of an orderer, or separate identifying information. When the system is operated in the form of a general web site, the separate identifying information may be an ID and a password registered in order to log into the web site. When the system is operated in the form of providing delivery information to each member through an Internet messenger program, the separate identifying information may be a messenger ID of each member as described above.
When the identifying information about the member is stored in the member information database 101 , delivery information about a product ordered by each member is received from each company related to delivery and connected to the system, based on the information stored in the member information database 101 , and is stored in the delivery information storage unit 102 in operation 202.
The delivery information of each member may be received periodically, when the member connects to the system, or when the member requests the delivery information.
When a server of a company related to delivery of products from a shopping mall or a delivery company linked to the system is directly connected to the delivery information storage unit 102, and delivery information is generated or changed periodically, the delivery information can be automatically transmitted to and stored in the delivery information storage unit 102. Alternatively, delivery information can be received from a separate system, and a manager of the system can directly input the delivery information received from the separate system to the delivery information storage unit 102.
Meanwhile, the request detector 103 detects whether the member requests the delivery information in operation 203.
When the system is operated in the form of each member logging into a web page and receiving delivery information of a product that he/she ordered, the request detector 103 determines whether the member requests delivery information based on whether the member logged into or clicked a menu button for requesting delivery information. When the system is operated in the form of providing delivery information to each member through a messenger program, the request detector 103 determines whether the member requests delivery information based on whether the member logged into the messenger program, whether the member transmitted a connection request through the messenger program, whether the member connected to the messenger program transmitted a message requesting the delivery information, or whether the member is continuously connected to the messenger for a predetermined period when a messenger connection state of the member is checked in an interval of the predetermined period.
Also as described above, types of delivery information can be determined by analyzing a sentence transmitted from the member through the web page or the messenger program or by receiving a selection of the member from the web page.
That is, whether the member requested delivery information of a certain company or delivery information of all companies can be determined.
When it is determined that the member requested the delivery information, the delivery information output unit 104 extracts the corresponding delivery information from among the delivery information received from the company related to delivery of a shopping mall or a delivery company linked to the system and stored in the delivery information storage unit 102, and transmits the corresponding delivery information to a user by outputting the corresponding delivery information to a web browser of a terminal of the user or a window of the messenger program in operation 204.
The invention can also be embodied as computer readable codes on a computer readable recording medium. The computer readable recording medium is any data storage device that can store data which can be thereafter read by a computer system. Examples of the computer readable recording medium include read-only memory (ROM), random-access memory (RAM), CD-ROMs, magnetic tapes, floppy disks, optical data storage devices, and carrier waves (such as data transmission through the Internet). The computer readable recording medium can also be distributed over network coupled computer systems so that the computer readable code is stored and executed in a distributed fashion.
