Abstract

The present invention relates to a picture synthesis service system and method, in which if a user selects a picture of tourist attractions in all countries of the world provided online and uploads a picture of the user himself or herself or the like, the uploaded picture is synthesized with the selected picture of a tourist attraction to thereby provide a desired synthesized picture. In the present invention, there is provided a picture synthesis service system, which provides image contents through a cyber space that a user can select through a user terminal and a data communication network and allows the user to synthesize his or her picture with the image contents, the picture synthesis service system comprising: a picture synthesis service server including: a contents DB for storing the image contents that can be synthesized with the picture; and a synthesis service module for allowing the user to select image contents registered in the contents DB using the user terminal and upload a picture file to be combined with the image contents, and combining the picture file at a predetermined location on the image contents and providing the synthesized picture if the picture file is uploaded; the data communication network including wired and wireless communication networks; and the user terminal for connecting online to the picture synthesis service server through the data communication network and using services provided by the picture synthesis service server.

Description PHOTO SYNTHESIS SERVICE SYSTEM AND METHOD
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a picture synthesis service system and method.
More specifically, the present invention relates to a picture synthesis service system and method, in which if a user selects a picture of tourist attractions in all countries of the world provided online and uploads a picture of the user himself or herself or the like, the uploaded picture is synthesized with the selected picture of a tourist attraction to thereby provide a desired synthesized picture. [2] Currently, techniques of synthesizing pictures are much utilized. Particularly, typical embodiments of such services provided offline include a service of synthesizing a picture of a specified person as a cover model of a magazine, a service of replacing pictures of a major character in a storybook with pictures of a specified person and publishing a storybook, and the like.
[3] That is, stores are operated that provide a service in which if a user takes pictures and selects a desired magazine, the pictures are synthesized with the magazine so as to replace pictures of models in the magazine with the pictures of the user to allow the user to be inserted as a model of the magazine.
[4] Such a service has a problem in that picture synthesis services can be provided only when the user himself or herself takes pictures on the spot.
[5] In addition, it is general that a user searches for desired image contents online, and cuts off a part of the searched image contents and synthesizes his or her picture onto the cut-off space, or synthesizes his or her picture onto the upper portion of the image contents.
[6] However, the above picture synthesis service entails a problem in that a user should work using a graphic program, and in that if the user is unskilled in using the graphic program, the picture synthesis work is almost impossible, or the result of the synthesis becomes so coarse as to be easily recognized as being a synthesis even though the synthesis work is done.

[7] Accordingly, the present invention has been made in order to solve the above problems, and it is an object of the invention to provide a picture synthesis service system and method, in which if a user selects a picture of tourist attractions in all countries of the world provided online and uploads a picture of the user himself or herself, a picture to be combined with a tourist attraction, or the like, the uploaded picture is synthesized with the selected picture of a tourist attraction to thereby provide a desired synthesized picture.
[8] Another object of the invention is to provide a picture synthesis service system and method, in which if a user uploads a picture of the user himself or herself or a picture desired to be combined with an image provided online, the uploaded picture is synthesized with the image to thereby provide a desired synthesized picture.
[9] A further object of the invention is to provide a picture synthesis service system and method, in which if a user uploads a picture of the user himself or herself or a picture desired to be combined with contents that are virtually created online as a background, the uploaded picture is synthesized with the contents to thereby provide a desired synthesized picture. [10] In order to accomplish the above objects of the invention, according to one aspect of the invention, there is provided a picture synthesis service system, which provides image contents through a cyber space that a user can select through a user terminal and a data communication network and allows the user to synthesize his or her picture with the image contents, the picture synthesis service system comprising: a picture synthesis service server including a contents database (DB) for storing the image contents that can be synthesized with the picture; and a synthesis service module for allowing the user to select image contents registered in the contents DB using the user terminal and upload a picture file to be combined with the image contents, and combining the picture file at a predetermined location on the image contents and providing the synthesized picture if the picture file is uploaded; the data communication network including wired and wireless communication networks; and the user terminal for connecting online to the picture synthesis service server through the data communication network and using services provided by the picture synthesis service server.
[11] According to another aspect of the invention, there is provided a picture synthesis service system, which provides services for a plurality of unspecified users to connect online using a user terminal and create a synthetic picture using certain image contents, the picture synthesis service system comprising: a picture synthesis service server for providing services for the users to change a location of three-dimensionally processed image contents, providing services for the users to upload a picture, synthesizing the uploaded picture with the image contents whose location is changed, and providing the synthesized picture to the user terminal; a data communication network including wired and wireless communication networks; and the user terminal for connecting online to the picture synthesis service server through the data communication network and using services provided by the picture synthesis service server.
[12] According to another aspect of the invention, there is provided a picture synthesis service system, which provides services for a plurality of unspecified users to connect online using a user terminal and create a synthetic picture using certain image contents, the picture synthesis service system comprising: a picture synthesis service server for providing services for the users to select desired image contents while searching for a certain site using the user terminal and specify a location on the selected image contents, providing services for the users to upload a picture, synthesizing the uploaded picture with the image contents where the location is specified, and providing the synthesized picture to the user terminal; a data communication network including wired and wireless communication networks; and the user terminal for connecting online to the picture synthesis service server through the data communication network and using services provided by the picture synthesis service server.
[13] According to another aspect of the invention, there is provided a picture synthesis service method comprising the steps of: (1) allowing a picture synthesis service server to provide an image contents view screen to an online connected user terminal; (2) allowing the picture synthesis service server to determine whether image contents are selected through the image contents view screen; (3) allowing the picture synthesis service server to provide services for a user to upload a picture file that can be combined and synthesized with the selected image contents; (4) allowing the picture synthesis service server to determine whether the user has uploaded a picture file; and (5) if the user has uploaded a picture file, allowing the picture synthesis service server to create a synthetic picture by combining the uploaded picture with the image contents at a certain location on the image contents and transmit the created synthetic picture to the user terminal.
[14] According to another aspect of the invention, there is provided a picture synthesis service method, which provides services for a plurality of unspecified users to connect online using a user terminal and create a synthetic picture using certain image contents, the picture synthesis service method comprising the steps of: (1) allowing a picture synthesis service server to provide services for the users to change a location of three - dimensionally processed image contents; and (2) allowing the picture synthesis service server to provide services for the users to upload a picture, synthesize the uploaded picture with the image contents whose location is changed, and provide the synthesized picture to the user terminal.
[15] According to another aspect of the invention, there is provided a picture synthesis service method, which provides services for a plurality of unspecified users to connect online using a user terminal and create a synthetic picture using certain image contents, the picture synthesis service method comprising the steps of: (1) allowing a picture synthesis service server to provide services for the users to select desired image contents while searching for a certain site using the user terminal and specify a location on the selected image contents; and (2) allowing the picture synthesis service server to provide services for the users to upload a picture, synthesize the uploaded picture with the image contents where the location is specified, and provide the synthesized picture to the user terminal.

[16] In the present invention configured as described above, if a user selects a picture of tourist attractions in all countries of the world provided online and uploads a picture of the user himself or herself or the like, the uploaded picture is synthesized with the selected picture of a tourist attraction to thereby provide a desired synthesized picture. Therefore, it is effective in that the user can obtain a picture that is the same as the one photographed while visiting the place.
[17] In addition, if a user uploads a picture of the user himself or herself or a picture desired to be combined with an image provided online, the uploaded picture is synthesized with the image to thereby provide a desired synthesized picture. Therefore, it is effective in that the user can be provided with a picture that is synthesized with image contents uploaded by other users, such as images of uncommon places as well as tourist attractions.

[27] The picture synthesis service server 300 includes a user information DB 310 for storing user profile information inputted by a user, a contents DB 320 for storing image contents that can be synthesized with a picture, a synthetic picture DB 330 for storing synthetic picture information created by the user, a custom-tailored information DB 340 for storing image contents extracted using the user profile information and log information created when the user uses services so that the image contents can be separately provided, a user information management module 350 for determining whether an online connected user is a registered user, providing an image contents view screen in connection with a synthesis service module 360 if the user is registered, and allowing the user to be registered as a member if the user is not registered, the synthesis service module 360 for allowing the user to select image contents registered in the contents DB 320 using the user terminal 100 and upload a picture file (to be) combined with the image contents, and combining the picture file at a predetermined location on the image contents and providing the combined picture if the picture file is uploaded, and a custom-tailored service module 370 for extracting image contents preferred by the user using the user profile information and log information created when the user uses services and providing the extracted image contents through the user s image contents view screen when the user logs in.
[28] When providing the image contents, the synthesis service module 360 of the picture synthesis service server 300 provides image contents having location information previously combined with a picture file by an image contents creator.
[29] In addition, when providing the image contents, the synthesis service module 360 of the picture synthesis service server 300 provides image contents having at least one or more pieces of location information previously combined with a picture file by an image contents creator. An image of a different angle is matched to the location information, and if any one piece of location information is selected among the one or more pieces of location information by the user who selects the image contents, the synthesis service module combines the picture file with the image contents matched to the selected location information and provides the combined picture.
[30] On the other hand, the picture synthesis service server 300 provides services for the user to change the location of three-dimensionally processed image contents, provides services for the user to upload a picture, synthesizes the uploaded picture with the image contents whose location is changed, and provides the synthesized picture to the user terminal 100.
[31] In addition, the picture synthesis service server 300 provides services for the user to select desired image contents while searching for a certain site using the user terminal and specify a location on the selected image contents, provides services for the user to upload a picture, synthesizes the uploaded picture with the image contents where the location is specified, and provides the synthesized picture to the user terminal 100.
[32] The picture synthesis service method using the picture synthesis service system constructed as described above is described with reference to FIG. 2.

[34] FIG. 2 is a flowchart illustrating a picture synthesis service method according to the present invention.
[35] A first embodiment of the present invention relates to a system constructed such that if a user has an access to the picture synthesis service server 300 online, selects image contents to be synthesized with a picture uploaded by the user himself or herself, and inputs synthesis conditions, the uploaded picture is automatically synthesized with the selected image contents to thereby provide a desired synthesized picture.
[36] Describing the first embodiment of the present invention with reference to FIG. 2, first, the synthesis service module 360 of the picture synthesis service server 300 provides an image contents view screen to the online connected user terminal 100 SlOO.
[37] The synthesis service module 360 determines whether image contents are selected through the image contents view screen Sl 10. If image contents are selected, the synthesis service module 360 provides services for the user to upload a picture file that can be combined and synthesized with the selected image contents and determines whether the user has uploaded a picture file S 120.
[38] Then, if the user has uploaded a picture file, the synthesis service module 360 combines the uploaded picture file with the image contents at a certain location on the image contents S 130, displays the combined picture file on the screen of the user terminal 100, and determines whether a satisfaction signal is inputted from the user S 140.
[39] If a satisfaction signal is inputted, the synthesis service module 360 transmits the picture synthesized with the image contents to the user terminal 100 S 150 and provides services to download and store the synthesized picture or output the downloaded picture through a printing apparatus such as a printer S 160.
[40] If a satisfaction signal is not inputted in step S 140, the synthesis service module 360 provides services to perform modification S 170.
[41] If image contents are not selected or a picture is not uploaded although the image contents are selected, the synthesis service module 360 determines whether a cancel command is inputted by the user and returns the screen to the previous screen if a cancel command is inputted.
[42] On the other hand, when synthesizing a picture with image contents as described in step S 130, a variety of conditions can be implemented as shown in FIGS. 3 to 5. That is, when providing image contents through the image contents view screen as shown in FIG. 3, the synthesis service module 360 provides image contents having location information previously combined with a picture file by an image contents creator, and if the user uploads a picture file, the synthesis service module synthesizes the picture at a predetermined location on the image contents so that the user can obtain a desired picture.
[43] FIG. 3(a) shows image contents, and the circle displayed on the image contents indicates a location where a picture is synthesized. FIG. 3(b) shows an embodiment of a picture synthesized with the image contents, and FIG. 3(c) shows a view showing a picture synthesized with the image contents.
[44] On the other hand, when providing image contents through the image contents view screen as shown in FIG. 4, the synthesis service module 360 provides image contents having at least one or more pieces of location information previously combined with a picture file by an image contents creator. An image of a different angle is matched to the location information, and if any one piece of location information is selected among the one or more pieces of location information by the user who selects the image contents, the synthesis service module provides services to combine the picture file with the image contents matched to the selected location information and provide the synthesized picture.
[45] FIG. 4(a) shows image contents, and the circles displayed on the image contents indicate locations where a picture is synthesized, in which three locations are specified. FIG. 4(b) shows the image contents when the right circle is selected, FIG. 4(c) shows the image contents when the left circle is selected, and FIG. 4(d) shows the image contents when the lower center circle is selected.

[47] In a second embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 5, the picture synthesis service server 300 constructs three-dimensionally processed image contents as a DB, provides services for the user to change the location of the three-dimensionally processed image contents constructed as a DB, and provides services for the user to upload a picture after providing services to change the location of the three- dimensionally processed image contents.
[48] Then, the picture synthesis service server 300 synthesizes the picture uploaded by the user with the image contents whose location has been changed and provides the synthesized picture to the user terminal 100.
[49] FIG. 5(a) shows the selected three-dimensionally processed image contents. FIG.
5(b) shows an embodiment of a picture synthesized with the image contents, and FIG. 5(c) shows a view showing a picture synthesized with the image contents whose location has been changed by the user.

[51] In a third embodiment of the present invention, image contents are not constructed as a DB as described in the first and second embodiments. If a user finds desired image contents while searching for a certain site, the user selects the image contents, and the picture synthesis service system synthesizes an uploaded picture with the selected image contents and provides the synthesized picture. As shown in FIG. 6, the picture synthesis service server 300 provides services for the user to select desired image contents while searching for a certain site using the user terminal 100 and specify a location on the selected image contents. If a location is specified on the image contents by the user as described above, the location of the image contents is changed to a location corresponding to the specified location, and a picture is synthesized with the image contents whose location is changed.
[52] That is, the picture synthesis service server 300 provides services for the user to upload a picture, synthesizes the uploaded picture with the image contents where the location is specified, and provides the synthesized picture to the user terminal 100.
[53] FIG. 6(a) shows image contents, and the circles displayed on the image contents indicate locations where a picture is synthesized. FIG. 6(b) shows an embodiment of a picture synthesized with the image contents, and FIG. 6(c) shows a view showing a picture synthesized with the image contents whose location has been changed by selecting the right circle by the user.
[54] For the synthesized pictures that are completed through a plurality of processes described above, the picture synthesis service server 300 constructs the synthetic picture DB 320, and thus can register and store the synthesized pictures in the synthetic picture DB 320 in response to a user s request.
[55] In addition, the picture synthesis service server 300 is separately provided with the custom-tailored information DB 340 and the custom-tailored service module 370, and thus the custom-tailored service module extracts image contents preferred by the user using the user profile information and log information created when the user uses services, and provides the extracted image contents through the user s image contents view screen when the user logs in. Therefore, the services can be improved so as to making it easy to select desired image contents. Industrial Applicability
[56] As described above, in the present invention, a user is allowed to combine a picture or contents of the user himself or herself with contents that are virtually created online as a background, as well as with tourist attractions or three-dimensional contents, and thus it has the same effect as taking a picture even in a cyber space.
[57] Although the present invention has been described with reference to several preferred embodiments, the description is illustrative of the invention and is not to be construed as limiting the invention. Various modifications and variations may occur to those skilled in the art, without departing from the scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.

Claims

Claims
[1] A picture synthesis service system, which provides image contents through a cyber space that a user can select through a user terminal and a data communication network and allows the user to synthesize his or her picture with the image contents, the picture synthesis service system comprising: a picture synthesis service server including: a contents DB for storing the image contents that can be synthesized with the picture; and a synthesis service module for allowing the user to select image contents registered in the contents DB using the user terminal and upload a picture file to be combined with the image contents, and combining the picture file at a predetermined location on the image contents and providing the synthesized picture if the picture file is uploaded; the data communication network including wired and wireless communication networks; and the user terminal for connecting online to the picture synthesis service server through the data communication network and using services provided by the picture synthesis service server.
[2] The system according to claim 1, wherein when providing the image contents, the picture synthesis service server provides image contents having location information previously combined with a picture file by an image contents creator.
[3] The system according to claim 1, wherein when providing the image contents, the picture synthesis service server provides image contents having at least one or more pieces of location information previously combined with a picture file by an image contents creator, in which an image of a different angle is matched to the location information, and if any one piece of location information is selected among the one or more pieces of location information by the user who selects the image contents, the picture synthesis service server combines the picture file with the image contents matched to the selected location information and provides the combined picture.
[4] A picture synthesis service system, which provides services for a plurality of unspecified users to connect online using a user terminal and create a synthetic pic ture using certain image contents, the picture synthesis service system comprising: a picture synthesis service server for providing services for the users to change a location of three-dimensionally processed image contents, providing services for the users to upload a picture, synthesizing the uploaded picture with the image contents whose location is changed, and providing the synthesized picture to the user terminal; a data communication network including wired and wireless communication networks; and the user terminal for connecting online to the picture synthesis service server through the data communication network and using services provided by the picture synthesis service server.
[5] A picture synthesis service system, which provides services for a plurality of unspecified users to connect online using a user terminal and create a synthetic picture using certain image contents, the picture synthesis service system comprising: a picture synthesis service server for providing services for the users to select desired image contents while searching for a certain site using the user terminal and specify a location on the selected image contents, providing services for the users to upload a picture, synthesizing the uploaded picture with the image contents where the location is specified, and providing the synthesized picture to the user terminal; a data communication network including wired and wireless communication networks; and the user terminal for connecting online to the picture synthesis service server through the data communication network and using services provided by the picture synthesis service server.
[6] A picture synthesis service method comprising the steps of:
(1) allowing a picture synthesis service server to provide an image contents view screen to an online connected user terminal;
(2) allowing the picture synthesis service server to determine whether image contents are selected through the image contents view screen;
(3) allowing the picture synthesis service server to provide services for a user to upload a picture file that can be combined and synthesized with the selected image contents;
(4) allowing the picture synthesis service server to determine whether the user has uploaded a picture file; and
(5) if the user has uploaded a picture file, allowing the picture synthesis service server to create a synthetic picture by combining the uploaded picture with the image contents at a certain location on the image contents and transmit the created synthetic picture to the user terminal.
[7] The method according to claim 6, wherein in the step (1), when providing the image contents through the image contents view screen, the picture synthesis service server provides image contents having location information previously combined with a picture file by an image contents creator.
[8] The method according to claim 6, wherein in the step (1), when providing the image contents through the image contents view screen, the picture synthesis service server provides image contents having at least one or more pieces of location information previously combined with a picture file by an image contents creator, in which an image of a different angle is matched to the location information, and if any one piece of location information is selected among the one or more pieces of location information by the user who selects the image contents, the picture synthesis service server combines the picture file with the image contents matched to the selected location information and provides the combined picture.
[9] A picture synthesis service method, which provides services for a plurality of unspecified users to connect online using a user terminal and create a synthetic picture using certain image contents, the picture synthesis service method comprising the steps of:
(1) allowing a picture synthesis service server to provide services for the users to change a location of three-dimensionally processed image contents; and
(2) allowing the picture synthesis service server to provide services for the users to upload a picture, synthesize the uploaded picture with the image contents whose location is changed, and provide the synthesized picture to the user terminal.
[10] A picture synthesis service method, which provides services for a plurality of unspecified users to connect online using a user terminal and create a synthetic picture using certain image contents, the picture synthesis service method comprising the steps of:
(1) allowing a picture synthesis service server to provide services for the users to select desired image contents while searching for a certain site using the user terminal and specify a location on the selected image contents; and
(2) allowing the picture synthesis service server to provide services for the users to upload a picture, synthesize the uploaded picture with the image contents where the location is specified, and provide the synthesized picture to the user terminal.
